If you have a big dish get a c/ku feed a 4dtv and a dvb receiver, since you are in Canada contact www.rpssat.com or www.kusat.com they should have everything you need for your big dish, tons of great programming out there free or a la carte.

There is lot of rumors going on if IKS is secured. Well in short it is -
and then it is not. Just to give you a few points on security with IKS:

1) IKS runs on a centralized server that is a share point to servers
which relay on this server. Your box is connecting too relays not
the IKS Server.

2) IKS servers require UDP connection, not TCP. You can think of UDP
as more secure, but the real difference is that UDP packets travel one
way (request is sent from the receiver and then fullfilled by the server
but there is no guarantee on data delivery of the packet from the
server, meaning that the server drops the link with requestor as soon
as it gets it - it may deliver it later on however). The relay - is really a
relay in UDP sense - (requests can be made to one server but another
server may fullfill it). Since there is no constant connection being open
it is almost impossible to catch the very small (tidy) request and data
travel from boxes to IKS.

3) IKS Servers accept only connections that have a receiver ID
attached to the data package. No request from PC or other device can
be made - this really gives much trouble in identifying what the content
is of the IKS package or intercepting it. I am not sure if the package
itself is being encrypted somehow - but it will be easy to do if it isn't.
With encrypted packages, even if someone intercepts it - that interception
would become useless.

4) In order for the providers to hunt you down they will need to know
what servers that nFusion boxes are connecting too. To find out, they
will have to intercept the traffic from the centralized server which is
located off-shore (but hard to do explained before). I could not locate
the servers by looking at the routers access logs - I can only find the
servers it is connecting too --- and surprisingly I saw many different
connections (rotating relays) --- which gives me positive vibes about IKS.

5) All the providers can do is see that your connection is making some
request for data that is being transfered from a server and has been
identified as suspicious - but before they can even take any action upon
it - the new server can be re-set and there you go, another round of
finding it again will be needed. This is time consuming and very very tidious
and an expensive task (not that the providers cant afford it). Even if the
provider proves that the traffic from your internet connection is suspicious -
they can not prove that it came from your requests and your receiver
(they cant trace back anything beyond your router/modem).

6) "Dave" did go to after the small people on the first occasion of IKS (more
then 10 years ago -- ohhh yes do not be surprised IKS is nothing new ---
it has been used back in Dave days when a computer was needed that will
serve already descrambled packages to the receiver using waffer boards or
card emulators) - but "Dave" had to physically prove that this was happening
from people trying this (hardware needed to make this function) - unlike today
(no additional hardware is needed - so hard to tell if you are really doing
anything wrong).

The final decision is always up to you to make. I do not want to sound
encouraging or disappointing - use your own judgment - do lots of reading

PLAIN AND SIMPLE

With your dynamic IP (as given by your service provider) you are OK.
If your provider gives a static IP, you are NOT OK

IKS doesn't mean you won't go down, it just means that you can come back up much faster.

If your hooked up to the net with your nfusion and you come home and turn your box on it will tell you if there is any new updates and gives you the option to update your box with the click of the remote button.

If your watching TV on stand alone (emu ON) and it goes down you simply click menu + user settings + emu off and IKS will kick in when you exit to TV.

99.9% of the time its IKS all the way.

I don't worry about anyone getting my IP address from the nfusion iks server as it does not collect anything other than an error log saying what failed.

Most have not noticed that IKS and Files are on 2 different servers and are ported to 1 that you are connected to.
That should be enough for people to guess there is more than 1 server at work here. I think last count there were 5 ported thru a chain across the web to 1 point of access. That point of access can be changed with a click of a button. So what if someone gets the main click boom somewhere else we go.

Anyone that wants to can easily run a proxy on your system and your bouncing around the world anyways.

Now to the whole sending keys things. The iks does not at anytime send keys to your box.(Its illegal) It does how ever send data to your box so your box knows what to do to get itself going. Kind of like A.I coding. No not any of the pyro team will explain that part for a good reason. Why give up a trade secret. I hope this helps some of you out with what your wanting to know

Great info LK
"IKS runs on a centralized server "
centralized servers get spoofed all the time

But I like your comment
"Use your own judgement"

All this was hashed and rehashed in a thread only 6 weeks ago. Nfusion has been upper most in the minds of people here. Sada and a few other bought one, while the old witch from florida was scamming people at ftaprosupport and taking away their hard earned money.

sada...U have it backwards...that Nfusion site copies the info from f2atv...U can tell just by the dates of the postings, old postings at f2atv are NEW postings at nfusionforums site...that nfusion site is just a c/p of other sites and only has 2,000 members which includes viewsat, sonicview, coo*lsat and other receivers... no way thats the official Nfusion site....its not even the nfusion team (matchstick and the pyro guys) that is posting the nfusion files there..

I don't care what site anybody uses, but f2atv has MUCH more and newer info than any other site regarding the Nfusion..

COMPLETE INSTRUCTIONS FOR WIRELESS ETHERNET BRIDGE SETUP

The following procedure is to get the Ethernet Bridge ready to use in bridge mode. This procedure must be performed by the customer because every wireless home network has some unique properties. During this procedure, you will be hooking the Bridge up to your computer to manually make changes to it's software. To do so, the following step-by-step instructions will guide you on how to make changes to your PC to communicate with the bridge, how to customize the bridge to your network, and finally, how to reset your computer to its original condition. These instructions should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

1. Connect the wireless bridge to your computer with an Ethernet cable and plug it into a power outlet. Note: we will not be hooking the bridge up to the router during this procedure, only the computer and the Ethernet enabled device you wish to add to your wireless network.
2.
A) FOR WINDOWS XP, go to your Local Area Connection properties. (Start - Control Panel - Network Connections - Right click Local area connection and choose properties.)
B) FOR WINDOWS VISTA, go to your Local Area Connection properties. (Start - Control Panel - Network and Sharing Centre.)To access the connection properties, click on VIEW STATUS next to the local connection and click on properties.
3.
A) FOR WINDOWS XP,Double click on internet protocol (TCP/IP)
B) FOR WINDOWS VISTA, Double click on internet protocol version 4.
4. Set your IP Address to 192.168.1.20 and your subnet to 255.255.255.0 by enabling radio button "use the following ip address"
5. Click OK to exit the TCP/IP Properties window, then click OK again to exit the Local Area Connection properties window and save your changes.
6. Open Internet Explorer Browser and in the Address bar type 192.168.1.253 to
access the Ethernet bridge settings. NOTE: YOU WILL NOT HAVE INTERNET ACCESS AT THIS TIME, AND UNTIL ALL STEPS ARE COMPLETED.
7. Enter the user name and password when prompted. (Your user name and password are written on the bottom of the Ethernet bridge.)
8. Click on the "LAN Settings" menu item on the left hand side.
9. Some routers use a number other than 1 in the 3rd octet of their ip address. Example: 192.168.2.x . If your router uses a 1, then proceed to step 14, otherwise continue to the next step.
10. On the LAN Settings screen change the bridges IP address to the same range as your wireless routers IP range. (The bridge IP is 192.168.1.253 by default, so for example, if your wireless routers IP address is 192.168.2.1, then your would want to change the number in the 3rd octet to 2, making your Ethernet bridges IP 192.168.2.253)
11. Click apply changes, this will disconnect you from the bridge.
12. Follow steps 1 - 4 again, substituting the new IP range instead. (For example, if you
changed the bridges IP to 192.168.2.253, then you will want to change your Local Area Connection IP to 192.168.2.20 instead of 192.168.1.20)
13. Open the Ethernet Bridge's configuration page again in Internet Explorer (like in step 6), by using it's new IP address.
14. Click on the "Wireless" menu on the left, and choose "basic settings".
15. Click on the drop down menu for MODE: and select CLIENT.
16. Click on apply changes, and when the page reloads, click on "OK" to continue.
17. Click on the Site Survey button and a new page will appear in a new instance of Internet Explorer.
18. In this new page, click on REFRESH, your wireless network should show up in the list. If you are using security for your wireless network, skip ahead to step 24.
19. Select radio button for your wireless network in the far right column and then click connect. When the page reloads, click "OK" to continue and close this smaller page when it reloads with your network site survey.
20. Click the "apply changes" button at the bottom. When the page reloads, you may close the Internet Explorer.
21.
A( FOR WINDOWS XP, go to your Local Area Connection properties. (Start - Control Panel - Network Connections - Right click Local area connection and choose properties.)
B(FOR WINDOWS VISTA, go to your Local Area Connection properties. (Start - Control Panel - Network and Sharing Center.) To access the connection properties, click on VIEW STATUS next to the local connection and click on properties.
22.
A( FOR WINDOWS XP, Double click on internet protocol (TCP/IP)
B( FOR WINDOWS VISTA, Double click on internet protocol version 4.
23. Click the radio buttons for "obtain ip address automatically" and "obtain dns server address automatically". Click OK at the bottom to close this window, and repeat for the next window.Your Ethernet bridge is now setup to be used. Windows Vista may need to be rebooted if you would like to test the bridge with your PC, otherwise, disconnect the bridge from your computer and plug it into the target device. Remember to power off the device before hooking the bridge up to it and powering the bridge up.This Section is for those that have a secured Network:
24. On step 18, when you clicked Refresh, it should show your wireless network. Here it will tell you what type of encryption you have. Make a note of this and close this new browser.
25. On the main setup screen to the left, click on the security menu. Choose the type of security you are using for your network. (WEP, WPA, ETC.)
26. If your security type is WEP, click on the "Set Wep Key" button and fill in all relevant information, save it and close the pop-up browser. If using any other security type, fill in your pass phrase or security code in the main explorer and click apply.
27. Go back to the Wireless Basic Settings page and click on the Site Survey button and a new page will appear in a new instance of Internet Explorer.
28. In this new page, click on REFRESH, your wireless network should show up in the list.
29. Select radio button for your wireless network in the far right column and then click connect. When the page reloads, click "OK" to continue and close this smaller page when it reloads with your network site survey.
