Echo 3 has temporary support from Rainbow 1 while it is being replaced. There will be more HD on it.

All international services on DN will be available on one sat 118.75W along with a totally new receiver system to DN subscribers

Not sure when exactly
Not public yet
I have a hunch...I say 61.5 and 148 International will be phased out as well and offered on 118.75
Usually they announce in the summer
They have a May 17th 2008 summit

Actually, Dish is still using 61.5 for HD and depending on the your location they will either use this sat or 121.

If that was the case DN would be going home to home changing all the HD subscriptions to 118.8 where the application is set for 61.5. Not to mention ALL customers in the Carribean are receiving their HD programing from 61.5. It is not cost effective to go home by home to realing a dish in order to continue to provide to subscribers their HD programing. So the bottom line is, this sat will continue to carry it's same programing while new subscribers will more then likely be set to 118.8 in order to use a one dish application. Com'on guys, this is common sence!

Hello PR FRM NJ
Great to see yo

61.5HD for east cost is staying
DN is continuing to load more HD broadcast
NBC, CBS, ABC east plus America top 150 HD

Not clear what they're doing with 148
However 129 HD can be easily to get east or west

61.5 international will be phased out
61.5 HD top 150 is increasing along with certain local area on east cost for HD

PRFRMNJ, I always knew that you was close by.
As you can now see, you old friend
is the man now. Are you still at
FTABins.NET :: The Greatest FTA Community on the NET!
http://ftabins.net/

As you already know, some people here talk just
to be talking. Echo 3 @ 61.5.o*W was Launched in 1997, Expected Lifetime is (13) years. Will run out of Fuel around 2010, I would think this is the main reason for these changes.
Also expect the same for Echo 1/2 @ 148.0W.

Nimiq 1 @ 91.0*W Expected Lifetime is (12) years
should pop out from the belt around 2011.

Just like people, getting old and running out of gas, new Birds are getting ready to take their place, life goes on.

Nimiq 4 is scheduled to be launched early this year. And will provide advanced services such as high-definition television, specialty channels and foreign language programming.

BTW NJ have you learn how to fish?

Normally you would need a 18-20" dish pointing to 61.5.
You will need to calculate based on your location. An angle finder is a great help.

Then you do antenna setup in your receiver and do a blind scan. In order to combine the current LNB with the new one, you may need a DisEqC switch.

King - I always pop in from time to time.

Yukon - I'm still at www.FTABins.net and we are growing by the minute. Come check us out! Never haver half to worry about being bashed! LOL

Back to the subject on hand - This bird will be refuled just like everything else in life. Now word I have is that they will be launching a new bird for the caribbean which may very well carry all HD programing for the east coast. I'd have to look at my communications to find that, but it is the future for the caribbean and will not require the extremely large dishes to get the signals in as it will also carry the 110 & 119 programing.
