I have a Viewsat 9K on a Dish 1000 with 110, 119, and 129 working fine with a dp34 switch. I want to add another dish 500, so I can watch the BEV channels. Is there a way to get this to work so I don't have to get up and unhook the feed from one antenna(DN) and hook up the feed to the other(BEV) in order to watch them?
I have dishes out the wazoo, its really not a problem to put up an old 500. So I guess my question is more about the switching part of the set up. How do you hook up 5 LNBs to a reciever? I currently have a dp34 running 3 lnbs to 3 receivers. I don't want to be dedicated to just DN or just BEV, I want to be able to just flip through the channels of both. What I really need is a dp34 style switch with 5 inputs for lnbs and 3 outputs to stbs. Does that exist? Thanks for any info.
There are complicated switching arrangemnts which give a lot of headache and I am sure King will post them. This is my simple solution.
Leave the current switching arrangement intact. Create a similar setup for your second group (maximum three LNBs). Bring the two output cables down to a manual A/B switch by the couch. Put the output of the manual switch to the TV!!! You now have manual control over two groups of LNBs (3 LNBs in each).
Yes, you will need a 2X1 DiSEqC Switch for outside use. Run wire down to your receiver.Connect it to a... A/B switch you can get one from Radio Shack. Now take the incoming existing antenna wire from your receiver and connect it to the A side of the switch.Take a small wire jumper from the center of the switch and connect it to your receiver. When you switch to A you will have your existing setup.Switch to B and you will have Bev's Birds Nimiq 1 and 2
