New member Username: UninetPost Number: 1 Registered: Jan-08 | I have loaded the latest file. My problem is i can only receive some of the channels. The channels i do not receive have low signal strength and no quality strength. My question is do i do a channel scan? Do i scan all channels or ...? Thanks for any help. |
Silver Member Username: Micklee11801Post Number: 133 Registered: Feb-06 | you should do a factory default, then goto menu, Installation, antenna and check to see if your setting is right on that. if good, than scan all the channels in again. Good Luck! |
New member Username: UninetPost Number: 2 Registered: Jan-08 | if i do a factory reset, do i then have to add the satellite definitions file? Does my bin file stay intact or do i need to reload this also. thanks for your quick response. |

Did yo recently point dish? Specify all hardware, LNBs, settings etc. Detailed info can be helpful to provide accurate solution Factory reset dosn't erase flash bin But it erases all satellite settings Not a very good recomendation |

New member Username: BhuroPost Number: 1 Registered: Jan-08 | Check your Antenna Setup, you should have atleast 80% quality under default transponder(12224). If not then you will need to realign your dish. |
New member Username: UninetPost Number: 4 Registered: Jan-08 | I have checked my antenna. I have 80% on both quality and signal at 12224. The channels i receive reflect this percentage. The channels i do not receive say searching signal. The signal strentgh is 60% or lower and no quality signal. |
New member Username: BhuroPost Number: 2 Registered: Jan-08 | Turn off both receiver for a minute with a switch in the back and see if it works. you will have to troubleshoot only one receiver at a time. |

Gold Member Username: TapemanNew York City in-HD, NY Post Number: 2049 Registered: Oct-06 | I don't have bev I wish I can help yo But if I were yo I would reload new bin As yo load bin must wait long enough to finish all procedure completely When it is fully complete yo should see sequence of 100p, end, inst, ON (on your front display) Turn off receiver from back switch This should help quality signal DO NOT USE BINS FROM TOTALFTA Always use at your own risk If yo are still getting 70 to 80% Q at 12224 but channels less than 50% it means yo are pointing to wrong satellite or some short on your DISEqC Due to the arrivals of Nagra 3 I'm suspecting 2 streams of sat beams with hardware interference of course everyone here thinks I'm losing my mind but is true also possible bin doesn't have correct fix or recent ECM BTW Channel scan won't hurt Yo can always do chan scan but not blind scan |

New member Username: BhuroPost Number: 5 Registered: Jan-08 | What I have found is that TheTotalFTA and TotalFTA has same identical ViewSat files which has extra bytes compared to other sites which I listed above. |
Gold Member Username: NydasPost Number: 6968 Registered: Jun-06 | I think with the dispute, I am relying on thetotalfta.com for viewsat files and NOT on the old totalfta site. At least I can get into the forums and know that it is the same old site I knew. This matter was discussed in a couple of threads here when the big "highjack" of totalfta occurred, and I do no intend to get into the controversy again. I am merely voicing my own conclusion. |
New member Username: BhuroPost Number: 6 Registered: Jan-08 | By looking at all these ViewSat problem and a big Hijack of TotalFTA I think we should be more carefull. there is no argument here. |

Bronze Member Username: Curse429Post Number: 48 Registered: Aug-07 | don't use either site.....go to a trusted site...i used www.ftasolutions,blogspot,com and had no problems |
Gold Member Username: TapemanNew York City in-HD, NY Post Number: 2054 Registered: Oct-06 | It is obvious thetotalfta is always comes out with bins first from CYPHER and all other sites c/p But I have a strong feeling thetotalfta is/was hijacked and maybe is/was at the control of Nagra If yo think of it...this is what I'll do if I were in Nagra's shoes and looking to shut down PTA But did they actually do it?...I have no proof besides the fact that entire data/forum of the site was forwarded to a remote IP address back in October...almost same time of several days delay on release of new bins Always a risk and use caution |
