I'm new to this, so please treat me like an idiot. Ok, wait...don't treat me that harsh, but you know what I mean.
I recently got a Pansat 3500SD that was working fine with the last bin it had which was 350. I then put in 351, which didn't work. All I got were local channels, and some basic channels.
I went to load the new bin, but there's something wrong with the receiver. It turns on, it's black for a while, then finally it comes up. I can go to the channel schedules, but it does not allow me to go the the main menu.
Thanks for your reply. I already have the bin. That's not the problem. The problem is that the receiver doesn't allow me to get to the main menu. I can see the program guide, and that's all. I hit the menu button, and nothing. Therefore, I can't install the new bin. Do I have to reset it somehow?
I turn on the unit. The channel guide pops up for a second, then it says "scrambled or bad channel".
The signal looks good from the purple bar indicator on the channel guide, or that screen that comes on when you change channels.
When I press SAT, it only says G25/KU down the line.
When I press MENU, it freezes, and at that point, I can't do anything more. I have to flip the switch in the back to shut it off. The power button doesn't work at that point.
I've got the receiver plugged into the computer, and it's on, but I don't see how I can upload anything to it. It doesn't show up on my computer as new hardware, if that's what it's supposed to do.
it will not show up as new hardware.just open the loader and load the factory bin, then reload the current bin this should take care of your problem.all available at future-fta.info good luck
RTAP, you are talking like I know what I'm doing... I don't know what a loader is, I don't know where to get the factory bin, I don't know how to reload the current bin. I wish I new how to "load" the bin. What buttons do I press? How do you load it, when it's plugged to your computer?? I saved the bin to the SD Card, by dragging it into the card from my computer, so the bin is in the SD Card. However, since I can't access the menu, I can't load the bin into the receiver. Now that it's connected to my computer, I have no idea, how to make it do anything.
run loader 35.01 , select bin tab on loader , find the latest bin file that you have downloaded and extracted from .zip and select it. Get it at most fta sites
select proper comm port.
turn on 3500, wait till it shows ON or a channel then hit download.
bandida go to pansat official site at http://www.pansatusa.com/home.htm read on it and in a little bit i will post here the links for all files needed to help you.
Ok, guys...it finally clicked in my head with tooter's explanation!! I couldn't understand what the heck a "loader" was. I hadn't seen FTA's link to the loader, but I got it now. FTA, Tooter, and Rtap..THANKS A BUNCH FOR YOUR PATIENCE, and taking the time with me. I finally did as instructed by you guys, and the channels are up. Thanks for helping a newbie out. I thought this was going to be hopeless.
