I'm currently in the market for a 50+" TV. I'm pretty much sold on the Sony 50" Grand Wega but am still shopping after reading some of the reviews. My main concern is anywhere I go to look at these larger TV's only have HD channels playing. I plan on buying the local cable full HD channel lineup but I want to see how much worse SDTV broadcasts look. I've heard some say that it looks horrible, some say it looks better han a 36" CRT TV, etc. Thoughts?
Thanks, Matt

I'm waiting to see the new Toshiba DLP, if they are as good as Tohiba claims and cost less than the Samsungs, then I got a new favorite set
SDTV on my panny LCD rp 60" is almost not worth watching. But it depends on the station, some stations look alot better than others, like they say garbage in garbage out. But i'm spoiled I want every channel to look HD.
I compared SD on the sammy, sony and hitachi and the sony and hitachi were neck and neck slightly better then the sammy. However, I was told the sammy has a noise filter that may or may not have been selected. Overall, it was watchable, just realize it will be no where near HD, and a tad soft because of the higher rez.
