New member Username: GwbushWasington DC, Md Afganistan Post Number: 1 Registered: Dec-07 | Emunation is a program that works in conjunction with a program on your desktop progdvb, mytheatre, dvbdream to name a few.It decodes the encryption. It receives sat signals through a dvb-s card that is inserted into a PCI port in the computer. The video can be viewed on the computer screen or like most people it is routed to a television through the computers video card. Do a search for dvb pci and you will get lots of hits. |
Silver Member Username: ViruscauserLeesburg, Georgia Post Number: 468 Registered: Mar-07 | Emunation 3.0.0.0 confirmed working great, Moron-In-Chief. DN is now open. BTW, guess who did a more thorough job than OBL ever could. Yup, you guessed it. |
Silver Member Username: Nbn3Post Number: 121 Registered: Nov-07 | don't bother people , nalin the leader of piracy still think its for a set top box. just shows how in thd dark he really with LK gone. another point for nalin |
Silver Member Username: Pulp_fictionPost Number: 445 Registered: Nov-07 | LMAO LK knew less about DVBcards then anyone ever to grace this site... The archive r Hilarious with LK and DVBcard questions when he was confronted with a Linux of DVBcard issue it was always a barrel of laughs.. So once again no loss... Failure ur best Quality.. Thanks for being you |
Gold Member Username: NydasPost Number: 5509 Registered: Jun-06 | One of the stalwarts here have fought before with a guy who said he had TV working under OpenGL license of Linux. Her name was LK. Nalin bin Nadia is a confirmed LK stooge, or LK by another name. Abby: When you get a chance Which card works better? Twinhan is what you have experience with and Myth is another one recommended. I have Ubuntu Fiesy Fawn on CD, so I can use it directly from CD. |

Silver Member Username: ViruscauserLeesburg, Georgia Post Number: 470 Registered: Mar-07 | Nalin, mine is a VP-7021 VisionPlus Twinhan running MT 3.38 and the Emunation 3.0.0.0 throws DN wide open. According to other reports, Emunation 3.0.0.0 works equally well for other types of DVB cards and with running DVBDream as well. |
Silver Member Username: Pulp_fictionPost Number: 451 Registered: Nov-07 | According to other reports, Emunation 3.0.0.0 works equally well for other types of DVB cards and with running DVBDream as well. True! |
Gold Member Username: NydasPost Number: 5512 Registered: Jun-06 | Thanks Pulp Fictioni½ and Abby. One more question, please. My network is partly 100mb Ethernet (two computers on either side of a wall) and partly wireless for the basement two rooms. Will I able to put a receiver at each location with one card only or will I need to install a card in each computer? |
Gold Member Username: Ke5aqnIF I DONT KNOW THE ANSWER, I WILL FIND... Post Number: 1288 Registered: Sep-06 | the card does not control a FTA receiver Nalin the card IS THE RECEIVER. |
Silver Member Username: ViruscauserLeesburg, Georgia Post Number: 471 Registered: Mar-07 | Yep. As THE FTA TESTER said, the card itself is the receiver while the "bin" (Emunation) and all necessary software all run on the computer. I see a provision, at least with MT, whereby the decoded signal can then be broadcast on an internal work but that's something, being tech stupid with no internal network, I've never looked at. So the provision seems to be there but I have no idea how, or if, that really works. |
Silver Member Username: Pulp_fictionPost Number: 452 Registered: Nov-07 | So the provision seems to be there but I have no idea how, or if, that really works. Yes it works U can use a program called VLC to watch streamed media on all your systems on the newtwork. |
Silver Member Username: KirankumarPost Number: 154 Registered: Oct-07 | Guys, Nalin and Nalin Bin nadia r 2 different people.Nalin is an inteligent person where as Nalin Bin Nadia is a frustrated transvastite born to a Hooker somewhere in the slums, all IT knows is the slum language of cursing.so people do yourselves s favor and don't respond to any comments that IT makes, because you guys will be wasting your inteligence on IT |
Gold Member Username: NydasPost Number: 5515 Registered: Jun-06 | I know "the card is the receiver". It is a card that goes into my computer. I have been installing all kinds of cards in desktops since 1980's. Once a card is installed, the whole computer acts as a part time receiver. However, since the computer is on a network and is a server within the LAN, just as its hard drive is accessible to other computers on the network, and internet is available everywhere, so is the output of the receiver??? Is the output a "final product" for a TV to plug into or is it final locally and also available in some format accross the local network? |
Silver Member Username: ViruscauserLeesburg, Georgia Post Number: 472 Registered: Mar-07 | Thanks Pulp Fiction O. |
Bronze Member Username: AjtechPost Number: 27 Registered: Oct-06 | I use a Digiwave card (just about the worst POS you can buy) in my server computer. I run PROGDvb on it and I don't have the display turned on for that system. It streams TV to every computer in the house, but they all have to be watching the same thing. Similar to using an STB and running a splitter on the output. I used to have the card in my MC computer and was doing the same thing, but the card can't keep up with the local graph and the network stream. With just the network stream the card works great - with the local graph I had to restart it every few hours. Having the SAT on the network is great as I can bring my laptop just about any where there is internet access and connect to my network at home and watch TV. It is a little choppy remotely so I have to downgrade the res and then make it full screen using media player and changing the channels is a bit of a pain, but it works for me. The PCI cards are great, but if you don't know your way around a computer you would do well to steer clear of them - especially if the STB stuff is bafelling you. Thanks for the Emunation - it worked for me. |
