My big question that I have always had but never asked but now has my curiousity.

Does anyone know what the ANT IN is for on my Pansat?

I have attempted to plug in my uhf vhf antenna, but that does not seem to do anything (no channels picked up after a scan). Is it functional once converted to Pansat 2700? Thanks!

it's for daisy chaning it carries the uhf/vhf and or cable signal into the tv so if you turn the box off and would like to watch using the tv tunner

Thanks to both of you for your feedback!

RTAP, are you saying you can actually see your cable channels with your FTA receiver? If so, how does the fta receiver know that you're looking at the cable channels from the ANT IN instead of satellite channels from the IF INPUT?

This is where I get confused. Cuz at first glance, it looks as if I can just plug in a standard VHF/UHF over the air antenna, scan for channels, then watch with my pansat.

Oh Well. THanks again!

No you can't use the FTA tuner.. The box acts like a junction box nothing more. Passes the signal onto the tv.

On the remote for the 250sm there is a button at the top labeled TV/Sat. This works like a toggle switch if you have cable plugged into the ANT IN on your FTA receiver. This should quickly switch between your cable feed and satellite. However, this will only work for analogue cable I believe. If you have OTA HD stations via a roof antenna, for example, you would be going directly to the HDMI on your TV, not to your STB. So the toggle switch then would do nothing.
