If not u would need another extreme. connect the two with the bd9 cable. Turn the broken one off. on the other one go to receiver upgrade- all info. hit ok then turn on broken one. I think this is right. I only read it once |

Gold Member Username: Donnie1973Post Number: 1229 Registered: May-06 | c/p from afterdawn a. Load working unit with factory file 2061 or 2067 b. Once loaded hook up Null cable to working unit, then to dead one, with power switch off. c. On hooked up unit to TV, setup : Menu>Installation>Receiver upgrade d. Choice main software (Only) to upload and click OK e. Progress will show up on TV, Turn I/O switch to ON potion on dead unit.(Watch for download to start). If No progress. Start over steps (d) and (i). f. Watch for progress again on TV screen indicating dead unit is up-grading. g. When dead unit reaches 100% wait 15teen seconds,then count 5 more.Unit will REBOOT in this time. h. Lights will not come back on front panel until unit is rebooted. i. Turn off dead unit first,then click EXIT from working Viewsat exit completely out of screen back to channels. j. Turn dead unit back on, display lights will come back on front panel,and unit will say REBOOT/INST./0000/NoChan k. Unit is ready to reload new main bin file. 3). This works on all Viewsat products, if (fail) at any point restart procedure at any point. If it doesn't check to make sure null cable to Viewsat are connected tightly,then try again. 4). If unit sits and does nothing wait 10 minutes,still nothing.Stop and unhook power source (Remember safely first) remove case and check fuse with meter. Fuse is a T2A_250v. 5). Replace fuse and retry steps again. 6). If still nothing after replacing fuse the unit is truly dead, and is time to send back to Vender for replacement. |

Silver Member Username: RtapFL Post Number: 671 Registered: Jan-07 | sada i was doing a little research on the vs exreme. i read the same thing happened to someone with the ultra and this is how they revived it. . Install factory bin, get the latest factory bin here => 2. Do factory reset 3 times 3. Install working PGM 4. Do another factory reset 5. Set your sat settings and rescan Good luck |

Sry this happened, but u will have to read to find out how to do it. I never had too yet. Viewsat will fix it if it is under two yrs old AND u have ur receipt. If not its like 75 to fix it. |

Pop the cover look inside the damn box see if the inline fuse is blown. Then proceed by getting yourself a little $4.00 multimeter and start checking for ttl voltages +5 and -5 I am willing to bet that, it was your own rush to steal tv that caused the problem. You come on here and scream blood murder that Cartier killed your STB. Was cartier there when you flash the box. No I don't think so! Did Cartier author the BIN that you claim, messed up your STB. Once again NO I don't think so. So now ask yourself who messed up and who has to fix it. You! Now get up off your lazy B00B Tube butt and trouble shoot the problem or go buy another piece of cr@p box and start again. |

Gold Member Username: TapemanNew York City in-HD, NY Post Number: 1634 Registered: Oct-06 | Make sure yo don't listen to 25 different people here But Dr. DSS is right Step#1 If no display on front pannel - Turn on the switch in the back - press power on (in front of receiver (If still no display goto setp2) Step#2 - Open receiver case with a skrew driver - Locate fuse next to transformer power supply (where power cord is wired to PC board) - Remove fuse and goto Radio Shack ask them if it is good or not - If it is bad ask them to buy exact one - Go back and put it and repeat step#1 Post your results so I know where to go from here King (Tapeman) There are 4 or 5 other Kings here But truely King is my first name Good Luck  |
