Viewsat extream. Direct tv dish single 2lnb ok I can find the Echo 8 10 with no problems at all. that pops up to tell you what sat. you on. Then i think i have found the Echo 5 but that doesnt pop up. The signal is really strong for it. I get the Echo 7 channels on this Sat. I want to know how i can fine tune it so the info telling you what is on that channel is coming up. and i want to get Echo 7 at the top of the tv letting me know im on that Sat.
What do i have to do. let me know if you need anymore detail
You can pretend to point in SOFTWARE to any satellite but only the sats you are pointing to will come through. In your case you are pointing to Echo 7 (119W) and Echo 8.1 (110W). You should set these to port 1 and prt 2 respectively in software and you will get both sats. To get any other Sat you will HAVE TO turn you dish physically to the right or left. It seems your CURRENT setup is typical of thousands.
Nalin thanks for responding. I am trying to do all i can myself to keep from calling my buddy that got me started. can you explain that just a tad bit better for me to understand completely if you dont mind. But from what im reading is you are telling me that the 5 is giving the most strength but im still on the 7 or maybe inbetween. if i had 8.1 channels those would come in also? What are the Software you are talking about.
Software is the software in the BIN. Where you are given a list of satellites to select - that part of software is somewhat misleading. If physically at the hardware level your switch is connected to the dish, which is pointing to 119W and 110W (typical set up) then you are pointing to those satellites unless you physically swing the dish to the right or left. From what you have posted you are connected to Echo 7- 119W and echo 8.1 110W. If you are not seeing signal stregth, it could be that you have not done the proper port setting or that the first TP in the TP list is not seeing anything. Set up Echo 7 as port 1 and Echo 8.1 as port 2 and do the blind scans. The actual sats you have scanned always show up when you are going through EPG
OK i just saw this im trying to get the Echostar 7 now the 8,10 comes in great it and it shows what is playing and info. The 7 does not but it plays and i get all the channels except for the Stars Western. This list that LK provided (thanks) says that you use the same LNB for both the 7 and 8,10
Thanks
There are two types of Ku band LNBFs- circular lnb's which have a low frequency of 11250 mhz, and linear lnb's, which have three different frequency ranges, universal - 9750mhz-10600mhz (European model), universal - 9750mhz- 10750 MHz, ( U.S. model's use both and are wide band LNBFs), and standard - 10750mhz.
Here is a list of satellites and the correct lnb's to use with them:
