Has anyone tried to convert the 301 into a 2700? Seems to me to be a real possibiltiy if you can convert the FLU and 2500. Any ideas or information would be appreciated.

No. Totally different hardware and architecture between a 301 and FTA receiver.

Fortec and Pansat use the same processor, which is why the conversion is possible.

i got a 301 whit a pansat 2500 bin, it works ok, and the 301 was in the trash of my aparment...
but I still didnt find the way to make it 2700...
find in google about le baron, and jkeys, and dont ask stupid questions like, "is any noobs guide?" that dosnt exist in this case (u will find like 20 of them, but no ones works always) this is a real testing work, and will require a lot of your time learning, reading, and testing...
but beliveme, u can find it in google...

Thanks, just seemed a real possibility, and I can't be the first to think of it. Turning a 301 into a pansat 2700 would be really a trick if it could be done. I have access to one and may try it myself.

I stand corrected. I checked and it appears you can.

Now, I'll have to revive my 301...
