My last post may have been to hard to understand. I am getting red line ghosting. When I am watching digital cable, I see faint but distinct red line double imaging next to letters displayed in the channel information box on the bottom of the screen
On humans, I see a similar red line beside and sometimes on the face themselves. then when the head turns, the red line may disappear. On a basketball broadcast in HD, I might see a red line beside the entire body, again faint but distinct - more common on distant court shots.
Any one else have this problem? Would calibration perhaps minimize this effect?

It seems that you have a convergence problem. The first 50V500 I had, I returned because of this problem. How old is your set? Can you still return it to the store?
I am very dissatisfied with the poor quality consistency of these sets.
The second set I got, was out of focus. When the tech came to look at it, he said the problem was due to usual production deviations.
I was able to make the set look great after i got the "used" Digital Video Essentials DVD from Amazon for 16.25 plus 4 something for expedited shipping. The "used" DVD was sealed, brand new. Worth every pennie. The only problem is that you get to see how bad regular TVs and DVD players are.
Thanks for confirming my concerns. I have a tech coming out in a about 10 days. QUESTION. Would the Digital Video Essentials DVD serve to correct this convergance problem? I will plan on buying the DVD anyway. I bought the set in mid-December, and the "convergance problem was not readily apparent. Started showing up in 3rd month.
