I own a 2001 32" Sonly Wega flat screen(tube tv). I just recently started using the sleep function at night and every time, the tv would turn itself on 4 hours after it went off(extensive R&D to come up with that fact). I've checked the clock, the alarm modes, anything related to any sort of timer and nothing has changed no matter what I do to these settings. The tv will just come on by itself 4 hours after the sleep timere turns the tv off. Wierd huh? Will somebody help me? I can't be the only one with this malfunction!?!
Microprocessor controls on/off timing, most likely a faulty sub program, may need a simple reset.
I would contact Sony customer service center ask how to reset or factory default. It can be in your TV manual. In many cases they should assit you for no extra charge. After all it is bug in the sub-program. This maeans you ain't the only one.
