WARNING!!! LCD-RP/DLP FUTURE OWNERS

I consider myself a professional A-V videophile.
I will only state this ONCE. If you own one of the subject TV's, the odds are overwhelming, that you have had some kind of problem with the TV, usually a lamp, fan, color engine etc.
If in doubt about this remark, read the message boards of all the complaints. For the current owners, it is too late. For the future owners, STOP right now and think about what you are about to invest in. I urge you to VERY SERIOUSLY think about buying this technology. I will NOT buy a TV that uses halogen lamps to produce an image.
Most explode and last 1000 hours. These are projector bulbs. Some insurance companies may not insure posessions if this bulb explodes and causes a fire. IT IS TIME TO SEND THE MANUFACTURERS A MESSAGE; DO NOT BUY ANY LCD-RP/DLP TV (EVEN THE NEW ONES COMING OUT) until they promise a new light bulb technology that is long-lasting and safe. Believe me, there is a better way. Let this message be a fair warning as I am trying to help.

Where is there a report of a DLP light engine explosion causing a fire?
THat is all I can type for now, going to put all of my electronics and appliances out on the curb, they are too dangerous.

Do you have any reports to justify this claim?

I am a fireman in CA and I own a sammy DLP and love it. Plues I've never been to a fire that was caused by a projection T.V. I think your all safe.

I no longer shower because I am afraid of drowning.

Thanks for the advice. That's exactly WHY I'm installing my DLP set in my shower. In case it does explode, I can quickly turn on the shower to put it out.

good 1 riddy.
too late I already bought 1. My tv has a HID
lamp not halogen. And I know it will need
replacing probably sooner rather than later.
What about all the LCD/DLP projectors, are they all gonna explode. lol
