Bronze Member Username: DjtorchPost Number: 23 Registered: May-04 | I have a mitsubishi rear rpojection TV. When I watch DVD in progressive scan mode, The full screen of my TV is not used. Even though it's a wide screen, the top and then bottom are not used and gives me a letter box look. is there a way to fix this problem or is this how it is? |

Bronze Member Username: EmkmdPost Number: 58 Registered: Dec-03 | James, First, make sure your DVD player is set to widescreen, if there is such a setting. More likely there is no problem. Widesceen can be in different aspect ratios, ex: 2.35:1, 1.85:1. Your 16x9 TV is 1.78:1. If you watch a 2.35:1 movie you will still get the black bars, but they are much smaller than they would be on a 4x3 TV.
