i just bought a magnavox lcd tv (model no. 15MF150V/37B) and a magnavox vcr/dvd combo (model no mdv560vr/17). I have two problems hopelessly intertwined problems-
1st when I play a dvd or vhs the picture SUCKS. Its bad. It looks the same as when just the tv is on, since we just use an antenna and not cable. When my son play's his VSmile (video console), the picture is perfect and crisp.. is it the dvd/vcr player.....?
last night i took everything apart, the vcr/dvd gives a crappy picture on the other tv too. is there an easy fix for a component acting like that?
2nd when my son does play his video games, the nice crisp picture that lets me know the tv has quality potential has a vertical blip-like a swerve in the picture and a dark band that move vertically up the screen. This happens wither I connect the game through the dvd/vcr player, through an RF modulater or directly to the tv. I also happen to have an extra console, and it does it with that one also, so it isn't the game.....
What is going on????? Any help would be greatly appreciated with all the energy of a five year boy and myself... thanks
You bought a bottom of the line TV and VCR/DVD combo, you can't expect them to work like something that costs 3 times as much. Philips/Magnavox is very poor quality equipment. It's probably just how cheaply they are made.
