Hi, i am new to the forum and i wanted to get started in FTA programming so that i can pick up the channels like TNT, USA, FOX, Lifetime..etc.. what website could you point me to to get started, I currently have a direct tv dish with 3 transponders. any info is greatly appreciated.

Your Direct TV dish is of little value to FTA. There is a good thread in the thread list pertaining to Dish Pro 500. Read carefully as there are a few types of DP 500 dish's

OK you are giving advice but you are still pimping out sites.

The DTV Dish will work, but you may need to change the LNBs, and point the dish properly to what you want to scan. A lot of people scan 110W and 119W. some also scan 121W with one dish, or on a separate dish they migh scan 61.5W or 148W.
If you buy new LNBs, make sure you do not buy DN twin LNB. Singles on brackets or doubles on brackets are OK.
