NOTICE: HAS ANYONE WHO OWNS AN LCD-RP-TV
FOR LONGER THAN 6 MONTHS ***NOT*** REQUIRED
EITHER A NEW LAMP, FAN OR WHATEVER TO THEIR SET?
WHY DOES ANYONE PUT UP WITH THIS TECHNOLOGY?
WHY SHUD U BE HELD HOSTAGE FOR SPENDING
SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS ONLY TO HAVE YOUR SET
DISABLED BY POOR LAMPS, FANS ETC. COMMENTS?

Very interesting. I think anyone who owns these tv's (including DLP) should demand that the
manufacturer guarantee the rated hours of the
lamp. If it's 10,000 hours then guarantee it.
ten k should last four plus years of regular
viewing, not two months. Halogen is the poorest
form of lighting and can cause fires because of the heat output. Extended warranties should also
cover the lamps as well. Calling them consumables is nonsense at several hundred dollars a pop.
We must contact all these manufacturer's and let
them know to build a better mouse trap.

i bought my tv knowing that the lamp may go out.
the 1 yr warranty covers the lamp but most extended
warranties do not. I put up with the tech. cause
of the impressive pq. If the lamp goes out before
the 1 yr warr and panasonic gives me the run around and tells me there is a 30 day wait, then i will buy a lamp on my own and when panasonic finally gets me a lamp, i'll have an extra. no problem. new lamp new tv.
