rtap ill go see if i can get info for you on that i have clone 2500 and i have cw600p i have 1 cable for cw it is null and my pansat stright throught but i did not like changing the cable so bought an adapter witch changis it back from null to stright works good on my boxes
the adapter is the best way to go i think found some info at this site dssrookie*com or the home of pansat future-fta*info chang the star to a dot hope this helps
The Pansat 2500 (straight cable) and 3500 (null cable) use different cables BUT radio shack sells a cheap adapter that when added to the straight cable it converts it to a null modem cable..
Want to know what cable you need to flash that shiny, new receiver ? There are two types of cables used, and both look the same on the outside, but are wired differently internally. They are the straight DB9 RS232 female to female cable, and the Null 9 pin RS232 female to female cable. The straight DB9 cable has all pins connected the same at both ends(pin 1-1, 2-2,3-3,etc.). The Null cable(also known as a Null-Modem) has pins 2 and 3 crossed(pin 2-3, 3-2). You can use a straight DB9 cable to program receivers requiring a Null cable, by purchasing an inexpensive Null adapter to attach to one end of the straight DB9 cable. This allows one cable to be used for any receiver.

I was the one who originally posted those images related to the cable configuration....at that time there was a mistake on the null modem image, if you can see it says Female to Male...
The right one is Female to Female....that was corrected a couple of weeks after the first publication......
