3 parts... 1st part... STi5105-C is designed to run at 275MHz, it has always been UNDERCLOCKED. The issue is not with the clock speed... the issue is with 3 filters, and a demultiplexing task. 1 filter is for the EPG, 1 filter is for AUTOTP, and 1 filter is for CAS. Demultiplexing, which is what seperates one channel from another on a transponder, is also necessary for decoding of Video and Audio. Now, I dunno if you guys have looked lately, but MAP57 is a big mess of math, and compares, and reductions, and expansions, and checks, and compares, and .... Fitting this in the box was not an easy task.

3rd part... DTV is not a sales ploy, since the Liberty Media takeover of DTV, some new information has come to light that will make it possible to watch DTV on alot of current FTA boxes.
