I have a viewsat VS2000 Platnium and i need to hook up a regular dishnet reciever with my viewsat..so i am planning on getting a DP34 switch. I know they are compatable, but what about the LNB's? Does it make a difference if you have Legacy LNB's or DishPro LNBs? i have a newer receiver so i am assuming i have DP LNB's. Anyone have any info?
- Why do you want to use DP34? - Start by listing all Satellites you want - List all hardware, dish, LNBs, etc. Dozens of people will help you if you do so
I'm so sorry PRF I'm new to this Let me give you a job ticket Sevice #070125-1
- How many satellite do you want to watch? - How many receivers are you going to install? - Total number of dishes you got? - Type and number of LNBs you got? - Types of switches you got? - How many people in your house hold?
DP switches are ONLY used with DP LNB's..and DN makes DP receivers and legacy receivers...so nobody here can give U a truthful answer based on the lack of info in your question..
and there are also DPP LNB's too, which are commonly installed by DN....so u need to know what hardware U have before U ask questions..
If anyone had their dish 500 system installed by DN as part of a sub and it was done recently 99.9% chances are you have a DishProPlus LNB and at least a 322 receiver. If by chance you have a 311 receiver from a DN installed system you can be 100% sure you don't have a DishProPlus as the 311, 301 or 111 will not work with that LNB and instead you have a DishPro Twin or Quad. But all of this is a guess since there is not enough information provided...
PRF I just like to mix business and pleasure Adam is confused it's his first post We are all pissing in the wind These are probably the parts left behind DN including DP34 He doesn't know what to do with'm
Here is what i have: A 625 which i use to dvr...thats why i want to keep that receiver. i have only one line comming off the dual LNB from the dish. the only thing in the line is the seperator that is behind the 625. I want to make both the receivers coexist w/o running a new line into the house. A dish person i talked to said that there was something about having Legacy LNB's that would make the DP34 not work. However, i have a 625 which i would assume would need the DP LNB's. Can i make both receivers coexist on the same line using the dp34?
Adam - No switch needed. But you are going to have to run another line from the LNB.. What you have is a DishProPlu and the only way to get this to work is to keep the DN Reciever. You do not need a switch. You need to connect the DN receiver to line one and your other receive line two. Make sure you have you antena setup as OSC-DP and 119 to DISEcQ #1 and 110 to DISEcQ #2
Adam - The Dish Pro Plus LNB's as well as the regular Dish Pro LNB's have a built in switch. That's why you don't use a switch... You just run a straight line into the receiver.
It's hard enough to make a DishProPlus work and if you try to adapt a DP34 switch it wont work. You would have to use a Dish Pro Plus switch and they are expensive. DishPro switches like the 34 will not work with a DishProPlus LNB. Save yourself the headache and run another line. The minute you try to split the signal in that line neither your DN receiver or you FTA receiver will work properly.
- Adam View Sat operate on 13/14V polarity switching - I have no idea what voltage polarity 625 uses - You can measure it and I can tell you how to - But most likely it will have 17/18V polarity switching
You asked why and I answered you Now if this is the case it is like connecting 2 voltage sources in parallel can this cause problems? - You bet!!! - So what are you supposed to do?
- Well PRF is right the easiest way is to run a parallel line from dual LNB and avoid a possible fried burgers
- See now I have to split my commission like LK says with PRF. Keep in mind I don't take AmEx but I will guarantee your satisfaction.
