Silver Member Username: Ars88P.I.M.P , Pakistani/In... Post Number: 365 Registered: Nov-06 | usually most clones dont come with universal remotes (but i cant stick with that because i havnt worked with too many receivers) also if u look at the serial number on ur box and if it ends with letters and not numbers then that also means its a clone (or vice versa...not at home comp so i cant really do my research at the moment) it also depends on what receiver you have..from what i've read, there are different ways to differentiate but when i get home i will let u kno for sure |

Gold Member Username: Mc_sunnyPost Number: 1013 Registered: Feb-06 | How to detect a clone pansat Summary of Counterfeit Product Characteristics q Pansat does not make or sell 3000 series products. Thus, any and all products sold with Pansat 3000 model are counterfeit satellite receivers. q The paint color on counterfeit satellite receivers is greenish silver. There is a noticeable difference in the color of the top cover when compared to the front panel's color. Authentic Pansat satellite receivers are produced in a "Sony silver" color. q A vinyl protection sheet, which is typically adhered to the top of the satellite receiver, is missing in the counterfeit product. Authentic products always have a protective vinyl sheet applied to them in case of damage during transportation. q Counterfeit receivers have top cover ventilation holes which are noticeably square shaped rather than a smooth, round shape as the authentic model has. q The bottom chassis of counterfeit receivers are flat whereas authentic receivers have several more, upward-punched, square shaped holes. q Counterfeit models have a sticker label listing UL (safety standard) and FCC compliance on the back panel. Sticker label format has been discontinued and is no longer used to list UL and FCC compliance. Authentic models have a UL & FCC clause directly printed onto the metal on the back of the receiver and should be accompanied by a small sticker indicating the month of the product's manufacture (e.g. Sep. 2004 -- (SB)). q A serial number is not attached on both the gift box and the unit (back or bottom) on counterfeit satellite receiver models. It appears as an alpha-numeric listing such as "4G4- " on the FCC sticker label. There is a possibility that a completely fake serial number may be created and attached on counterfeit units in the future. Authentic Pansat satellite receivers will list an eight (8) digit serial number consisting of year, month, unit sequence & other numbers and is located on the bottom of the receiver chassis and on the top side of gift box. |
Silver Member Username: Ke5aqnShawnee, OK USA Post Number: 555 Registered: Sep-06 | Ya if its a 3000 its a clone for sure You will need to be SURE all the bin's you load into that clone has a lower case t on the end of it...The upper case T means its intended for Tivo and the lower case t is clone safe. I hope this helped sorry for the bad news.. |

Gold Member Username: NydasPost Number: 1417 Registered: Jun-06 | Pansat 3000 is a pansat 2500 clone. You will need 288T BIN and BL updater 1.4 and a straight RS232 cable. There are some probelms (freezing and resets) with this BIN. If you can wait for 1-2 days, there is a 289 file out for real Pansat 2500. DO NOT USE THIS file but we are all expecting 289T - the clone safe version soon. When it comes out you can upload that. The sites where you can get all the downloads and upload information Look at Fortec and Pantec sections Whatever you do, DO NOT use genuine Pansat BINs. You can look at the Pansat section for instructions on how to upload. When you upload, make sure the BIN file you are uploading is extracted out of the zipped file - using winzip.exe available from http://www.winzip.com |

Silver Member Username: Ke5aqnShawnee, OK USA Post Number: 560 Registered: Sep-06 | Hi Nalin Nyda, As you can clealy see here we answered the question in great detail. You did add some great info on a bin that will not work on his receiver and a nicely worded warning. I am still wondering as to why on your copy and past list you post daily you don't have the vewsat or pansat "home" sites. It is always best to get a file from the maker and not second hand. However, I was wondering were my shadow was LoL Have a fun next few day's!! |
Gold Member Username: NydasPost Number: 1418 Registered: Jun-06 | Jay: As anybody can see you did not know that Pansat 3000 was a Panst 2500 clone and you went to Pansatusa site and sent others there. Silver Member Username: Ke5aqnShawnee, OK USA Post Number: 563 Registered: Sep-06 | Nalin, Please reread my post's I think you missed some of them..I stated to you that we had answered the question. You are just trying to prove you are the best here and are not. I am not the saying I am eather but, you are far from it ether. Anyone can copy and paste for other sites! So lets go over the post's here on this thread shall we? Ok get your pen's, paper, and thinking caps on everbody! Here we go.... From:usama ahmed subject: How do you tell the difference between clone and real? i have a pansat 3000 but i don't know if its clone or not ... like i stated in my question i can't tell if my reciever is a clone or original and how do you upload the bin into the reciever.. thanks in advance... i've never done this before LOL The One asked for a Picture of the receiver.... usama ahmed responded by stating he had a box with the words "pansat 3000" and a receiver that was labeled the same... Arslan thoughtfully pointed out that most clones do not come with a universal remote....... Jay Responded by letting him know that Pansat does not manufacture a receiver named "3000" and posted a nice list of all the receiver that pansat has available........... Then usama ahmed responed with: yea k where can i get the clone files for 2500 and the loader plz help!! Mc Sunny I am sure in the mean time before he could see the response added a great "how to" spot a clone. Also before any responses were noticed Jay added a comment that he was sure it was a clone and a great explanation of the diferant bin's and what ones would be safe for his cloned receiver. Then Nalin Nyda added a repete that the 3000 is a clone and sugested that he go to several sites and put in a bin intented for tivo. ( upper case T on the end ) She also speculated that a clone safe 289 bin will be released soon. Then she added a repet of Jay's warning on only useing clone safe bin's and some instructions on useing winzip and a link to winzip.com Then Jay posted: Hi Nalin Nyda, As you can clealy see here we answered the question in great detail. You did add some great info on a bin that will not work on his receiver and a nicely worded warning. I am still wondering as to why on your copy and past list you post daily you don't have the vewsat or pansat "home" sites. It is always best to get a file from the maker and not second hand. The only complete answer was from me. You are the most stupid guy around here. Go and learn before you post. Ryerson: please tell this guy, Jay where he belongs So in closing I don't see were your post was anymore helpfull than mine except you did add links to a few sites he can get the bin's and loader. Its cool to add to a post but not cool to repeat the same answer in yours and try to act like you are that only one here who answered it. Yes I will be watching you very close and grading your papers from now on. So you better be sure you get eventing right and cross your i's and dot your t's. |
Silver Member Username: EdenmanPost Number: 262 Registered: Aug-06 | I have a Pansat 3000, it IS a 2500 clone, it IS working today with 288T. 289 is out today for original pansats to solve some freezing issues, the clone bin should be along shortly..man these threads get outta control! |
Gold Member Username: NydasPost Number: 1419 Registered: Jun-06 | Jay: An experienced poster here knows that Pansat 3000 is a pansat 2500 clone. The One usually spots the question fully and answers fully, and I waited for him to answer but he did not. Lately he has not been coming much to the forum. I have helped Arslan before and he was side tracking a bit. You looked at pansatusa site for information showing clearly your inexperience. McSunny is an expert and I would not have replied had I seen his post. Unfortunately my response went out before I saw his response. Let me be clear - I do not generally post if McSunny or The One or Smart 1 is posting because I know that they know and can give satisfactory and expert answers. And I would suggest to you that you do the same, because they know far more than you do. As I told you before, you have a lot to learn by reading before you venture to posting answers. |

Silver Member Username: Ke5aqnShawnee, OK USA Post Number: 566 Registered: Sep-06 | I am going to respond to some of the point's you tried to make their. YOU:"You looked at pansatusa site for information showing clearly your inexperience. My responce: My first statement in my first post was "I am looking into this for ya But right out of the box the first clue here is Pansat doesn't make a 3000" Then I listed each receiver pansat makes. I, like you stated happened to you had not seen the other post's responding to his question. Then I went to pansat's website and found the correct page to give him a link to back up what I had stated. In none of that does it give an impression that I do not know what i was talking about I merely went to the manufacturers website to prove to the user I was correct. you: "Let me be clear - I do not generally post if McSunny or The One or Smart 1 is posting because I know that they know and can give satisfactory and expert answers." My responce: It is very rude to post a repetition of answers that are already found inside the thread no matter who has posted in that thread. If the answer is going to cause damage or steps were left out b all means its fine to ADD to the post. You should always say something like I would like to ADD.....((paste whatever you have copied here)) You : "And I would suggest to you that you do the same, because they know far more than you do." I unlike you do not feel I need to correct everone that post's here. I will from time to time add to a post.((I will grade your papers from now on)) you: "As I told you before, you have a lot to learn by reading before you venture to posting answers." My responce: Each time I answer a users question I look up info, post links to the files, and try to send them to placed were they can learn how to fix the problem their selves. I feel it is best to let the user read some and learn instead of come here every time and never learn. If you don't like that tough. As far as my qualification's are I am not going to get into all that with you at this time in great detail. I am a+ certified, a Ham radio operator, storm chaser (((my truck has 2 ham radio's, cb, WiFi, Radar from Mesnonet, GPS TV/w dvd-vcr, just to name a few)), have had satellite TV for over 13 years, ((first analog receiver, then 4DTV now FTA )) and have been posting in sat's forums for 7 years off and on. Admiditly I am simi new ((SEP 06))to this "testing" hobby but not new to FTA or satellite TV. |
