All pansats and clones are plauged with BL problems, there is no cure for BL problems other than a different make of receiver .

I am thinking the trouble is not BL its BS on his TV..

if you do have a black screen i would do a factory reset get the latest bin and rescan everything.

Hey blah
I think it's your TV settings not your receiver.
Try this,disconnect your satellite receiver.
Connect a set of Rabbit Ears to your TV or
long piece of coaxial cable, now pull up your
menu on your TV & check your Parental Control Settings.

I had that happen with a tv I had. It's the TV itself. You can try to either connect your STB using either the S-Video, RCA or Coax. You'll need to see which one works. But it is the tv and it's the parental controls.

Blah blah - If you have another TV you can try this with or borrow one then hook the box up before you start tinkering with the box. Make sure it is the box and not somethign else.
