The Magnum is also reported to be exfellent. The sonicview 1000 "is one of the most powerful free-to-air receivers in today's market. It has the features of a Viewsat Xtreme and C00lsat 6000 combined, ..." It is available for about Canadian $155. It has one of the best EPG (1 week), and has a CPU similar to Viewsat, so that in case of an ECM the chances of getting a BIN are the same as getting a BIN for Viewsat. |

Satellite scan is scanning a selected satellite using the list of TPs already listed in the software. If there are other TPs, they are not scanned. Advanced scan allows you to do fine tuning of each TP before scanning Blind scan allows you to pick up all the transponders that are currently active. it usually wipes out the list of transponders stored in the software and replaces the list with a new list. This is a good method of scanning TP scan allows you to scan an indivual TP or several selected TPs from the list of TPs. This is a good method of updating from a selected TP. SORTING. If you go into "channel Edir" you will find a Sort. You can sort alphabetically, by satellite, by TP, etc I suggest you do more reading ins DSS site, such as, Happy learning!! |

Then go into Parental control and after turning autoroll off, put in the Nagravision 2 Keys for DN(Id=0101) and BEV(ID=0901) as appropriate. Don't forget to save the keys. Then exit out and select the satellites you want to scan. Make sure you set the DisEqC for each of the satellites or LNBs you are scanning. Then do a Blind Scan for each of the satellite selected. Don't forget to do Parental control, once the TV is working, and do your own selection of favourites. It always helps to switch the receiver off at the back and after a few seconds turn it on. Problems seem to vanish with that action. I have posted some sites above, and you can do some more reading there. Hope you get started. |

Menu/Installation/antenna. go to 119 and look at the DiseqC setting. Let us say it is Port 1. Your Echo 3 (61.5) WILL be on a different dish with a different DiseqC port number, such as 2,3,or 4. If you don't have more than one dish, you CANNOT scan 119 and 61.5 I hope this helps. |

Receiver worked Fine ....On both I Had almost same channels...But Today morning Again No Or Bad Signal.. I notice something. When I switch OFF the Receiver.. then when I switch it ON the next day..its says 'No Or Bad Signal' I have to Re-Scan- Re-Set everything.. I really dont want to manupulate with this EVERYDAY.. I Want To Set Everything For Good,, Except if ever there would be BIN ... Tell me about my SETMAX - SAHARA - AjTak- Samay- PakTV Etcc... How Would I Get them back ??? On which Sattelite they Are ?... Two Weeks ago they were all on 61 Echo 3. .. has there been any changes on this satellite ?? |

Gold Member Username: NydasPost Number: 1034 Registered: Jun-06 | The Indo-Pakistani channels are best scanned on 61.5 (Echor 3) in the East,121W (Echo 9) in the mid-states area and 148W (Echo 1 and 2) on the West coast. AMC 16 is at 118.8, very close to Echo 7, but needs a special LNB and probably a bigger dish, although it is KU. On AMC 16 you will get channels like Doordarshan and ND TV |

Gold Member Username: NydasPost Number: 1035 Registered: Jun-06 | When you switch off a receiver overnight, and if the keys have changed, depending upon the receiver and BIN you have to wait for autoroll to kick in. Particularly if the keys have changed twice during the time the receiver was off, you may wait for a very long time for autoroll to work, and it is better to go with autoroll off and manual entry of keys. With the later BINs, there are some glitches if the time and time zone are incorrect, because the EPG is trying to load. Some receivers (I have one), do not keep time if switched off at the back. I hope the above information will of particular help to those who keep on getting signals OK at times and not OK at other times. |

The latest BIN is 137, which seems to have some good features, but I have not read enough about it to say more. |

New member Username: Ataleb222Post Number: 2 Registered: Dec-06 | LK, I know the scanning is done with the receiver and I have done my week's of reading. Here is a simplified way of asking the same question: I have a 4-way DiseqC switch that I have 2 lines come into. One from 61.6 and the other from 110/119. When I do my scanning on by VS Extreme, the receiver is having a tough time picking up 119 (it only sees 110). If I do a blind scan (with the right DiseqC setting), I do get some of the 119 channels. It appears that even when I select T7 (119), the receiver still sees 110. I am sure others have had this issue one time or another. Thanks for your help. |

Gold Member Username: LklivesPost Number: 6278 Registered: Jan-06 | U still left out much, but its a start ...at least we know U can read and what some of the hardware is.. did U check your cables...connections....disque switch...antenna settings...dish alignment... BTW...U shouldn't contradict yourself...it makes it harder for yourself to resolve your issue.. (it only sees 110). I do get some of the 119 I'll give U simple! I got new tail lights, how do they look?...LOL |

New member Username: Ataleb222Post Number: 3 Registered: Dec-06 | LK, The 2 LNBs for 110 and 119 are on the same dish (DN 500) and only one line comes into the house from that dish. That line takes up on node in the 4x1 DiseqC switch. Anothe node is taking up by the line from the 61.5 dish. When I go to scan the 61.5 satellite, no problem, because I can select port 1 for the DiseqC switch and the receiver sees it just fine. For 110, I change my DiseqC setting to port 2 (again no problem). For 119, with DiseqC port setting at 2, and when I go to one of the TPs where there's a good signal, I see that the receiver is actually reading 110, and not 119. Again, thanks for your patience. |

Gold Member Username: LklivesPost Number: 6282 Registered: Jan-06 | Taleb...then U either have a bad cable or connection from LNB to switch...or a bad port on the switch ...or bad 119 dish alignment..or bad lnb or receiver..U REALLY DIDN'T HELP WITH YOUR POST..U HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING TO FIX IT, EXCEPT WRITE POSTS! At switch , move cables and put 119- port 1...110-port 2..61.5- port 3 (like they should be)...and reassign the ports in your antenna/dish settings..and then do scans and reboot receiver in back.. if then no 61.5, U have a bad switch... if still again no 119, U have bad cable, connection (from LNB 119 to switch) or most likely a poor 119 dish alignment ....and VERY unlikely a bad 119 LNB or bad receiver.. Actually it is ALWAYS best to do scans without switches, running cable DIRECTLY from LNB to receiver, which U would have known, had U read anything!...then U know if U have the dish aligned correctly and good cables/connections! This is NOT rocket science , there is a thing called "process of elimination" that actually works very well.. how ya like my tail lights?...LMAO |
