Silver Member Username: NydasPost Number: 935 Registered: Jun-06 | Some basics for inexperienced people: A BIN is a peice of software also known as firmware or flash, etc. Your receiver needs it to function properly. BINs change about every 3-20 weeks. There are different BINs for different receivers. You install it into your receiver using an uploader. Downloaded files have to be unzipped and the appropriate file(s) extracted. You need a 9 pin F/F cable - either a RS232 straight or a null modem depending upon the model of your receiver. If you use the wrong cable usually nothing happens. If you use the wrong BIN, you can get into serious problems. There is a set procedure for doing the uploading and you HAVE to follow the procedure. Keys change as often as 3 times a day but usually 1-2 times a week. They are the same for all receivers. The lastest BINs allow the keys to come in automatically - hence the word Autoroll in some posts. Sometimes the Autoroll does not work and you have to put in the keys manually.
