A lot of people asking questions regarding BIN update may find this helpfull PANSAT Software update:
1. Connect the serial cable to the receiver and Comm #1 or Comm #2 port of your computer. Double check and make sure the cable is securely connected.
Note: Pansat 2700 & 3500 use RS232C null modem(serial)cable and Pansat 2500 use RS232C straight through serial cable
2. Plug in the receiver power core, make sure the switch is turn to "ON " from the rear panel, Then turn the power ON with remote control or from the front. You have to wait for receiver to boot up and indicated ON.
3. Run the Down loader GTRom Loader from the new created folder.
4. Click the BIN FILE button, browser and select latest BIN FILE, then click the Open button.
5. Click the Download button, wait until the Download Completed. Watch the LED on the receiver, it should reboot itself, wait until receiver displayed ON.
6. At this point; You are done with the software update. You can turn off power, then disconnect it from the PC.
hi Jaggy which receiver do u have? becos i have fortec lifetime ultra i download 284T and blacklist updater 1.4 and my auto roll is on and its now working it says like scramble or bad channel can u help
Receiver Configuration set up after Bin is Installed:
With the Receiver unplug
1. Connecting all the RCA cable from the TV to the receiver, and connect RG-6 Cable to the receiver, then Plug in power cord on the receiver.
2. You should see the Language Menu on the TV screen, select English.
3. "CAS SYSTEM" set up, just following the 3A, 3B and 3C steps See the attachment
3A). Press menu, scroll down to select Parental Control then press OK. 3B). Scroll down to PIN #2, then enter you 4 digits password. If you enter correct PW, it will take you into the CAS SYSTEM menu windown. 3C). In the CAS SYSTEM menu, scroll down to SET DEFAULT KEY, then press OK. Then exit to main menu page.
In the future; if you have to edit the Dishnet key, just following the step #3 to get into the CAS SYSTEM menu, to edit the key go here: Here is how to update key with a screen shoot
4. From the MAIN MENU: selecting INSTALLATION then Antenna setup Option.
These are my dish set up and DiSeqC multi switch configuration; DiSeqC #1 SuperDish Echo9-IA 13 Dishnet 121 DiSeqC #2 Echo8.6/Ku 110W, DiSeqC #3 Echo7/Ku at 119W
Satellite: ECHO 9(121) same as dish 105 Lnb type-Standard Lo freq-10750 22khz-OFF DiseqC- #1 Skew: O TP: leave it as is Positioner-Disable.
Satellite: ECHO 6,8(110) Lnb type-Standard Lo freq-11250 22khz-OFF DiseqC-#2 Skew: O TP: leave it as is Positioner-Disable.
Satellite: ECHO 7(119) Lnb type-Standard Lo freq-11250 22khz-OFF DiseqC-#3 Skew: O TP: leave it as is Positioner-Disable.
5. Check the signal and Quality level highest as you can (adjust the dish slightly to improve the signal strength). If you get no quality level on transponders, try others before giving up, because not all TPs are transmitting, if nesscery Re-aim your dish still not getting any quality signal
6. Press the Exit button, press OK to save setting, the back to the Main Menu
7. Go back to the Installation Menu
8. Goto SATELLITE SCAN or BLIND SCAN, press OK, select the satellite to scan. you have to scan all the satellites
JaggyB: Most of the time the autoroll on 284T works fine. So you can keep it on. Occasionally, like 7.pm today, it did not work. If it does that you should turn it off, input the latest keys and exit. If it still does not work, recheck and also manually turn switch off and on. Once it is going, I have been turning the autoroll on for the next key change.
canon labtec : You can have both DN and BEV, if you have two dishes and point them correctly. You will need a DiseqC switch - buy the one which has 4 inputs and one output. You will then connect them in the software using the same connections as you did on the switch. That part is in Menu/Installation/antenna. Once you have activated BEV on one port of the switch and DN on the other, you are set to scan both satellites. Good luck.
i have fortec lifetime ultra & on the back it says RS 232 cable. Just to be sure, do i need this cable for the bin or some other one. Thnks in anticipation to all who give the right info.

Nalin, Thanksfor your help on autoroll. Nalin/McSunny: I can not get SET, B4U, SETNX and ZTV. All other channels are coming. I just rescanned all channels. Some of the channels showed up in list. But when I tried to go on those channels, it says "Tansponder Autoupdate". After update is complete channels disappear.
I read earlier quote from McSunny and did TP Scan for 3ku and then scaned Tp # 18. Did not work. Thanks again for your help.
Jenny: Go to one of the following sites, and read up all there is for your specific receiver. There is tons of information about latest BIN, uploaders, and uploading instructions. http://www.totalfta.com http://www.future-fta.info http://www.dsstester*com Then download the appropriate BIN and uploader to your computer and THE INSTRUCTIONS. Make sure you get the right cable for your receiver - the information is there and someody has also posted the cable information today on this thread.
Look what I found...talk about someone being a hypercrite....and calling the kettle black!....nalin does this all the time to others, but says thats OK ...did it tonite here again in this thread ...and nalin's bud "the one" does it all the time to everybody...look above at nalin key post , which was identical keys to rasheets posted earlier..I personally don't care, but don't flip flop, and do practice what U preach..

LK, U say that U personally do not care, but also work hard to find such things. You care that is why you look out for such things. Practice what u preach work on you as well. If you don't care, don't look out for such things (and then post as well, did this post helped anyone????????).
Some times just turning the receiver off from the back switch and then turning it back on again after a minute helps get back "scrambled or bad channels" try that first before you do a blind scan.

-Here is the sequence for the Blacklist and clone safe versions. - (Q)HOw to Turn OFF AUTOROLL ??????? - (A)Enter the menu Parental Control -> Second PIN (enter 0000 or whatever PIN you used). This is the CAS SYSTEM screen. Move to Autoroll option and turn OFF the provider (DN/Bev/Globecast) for your system. Be sure to leave the Keycode ON. Return to the CAS SYSTEM screen and select Nagravision 2.

How to change the cooltec & cooltech Nagra 2 keys Just press 8282 and when the screen shows you the four sets of numbers enter the new keys into the numbers Leaave lines 10 and 11 with the old keys and put the new keys in line 20 and 21. the old keys are still good but inactive, the new keys are the active ones. so it looks like this; 10 = old key 00 11 = old key 01 20 = new key 00 21 = new key 01 ________________

you have to enter the keys manually, autoroll is not working anymore. so turn off your autoroll (leave key code ON only) and enter the keys manuully. and that should solve your problem.

Would just like to thank everyone for their help. I have my pantec clone up and going with all channels. Who knew a ten dollar cable and five minutes of downloads could make someone so happy? I always figured that loadng programs was too much for me but it was suprisingly easy. Once again Thank You for your support! helo room.i got a pansat 2500 a and got some problem with it. i went to factory default and i reset the receiver. now i needed to get the satelite to get the chanelsback there r too many sat on the list and i dont know much about it but i know that the 61.5 u can get the european channels on it n otheres. my question is i went to n did a blind scan n got the channels but when i turn off the receiver i loose the signal n to let u guys know i dont have a switch from my dish to the reciver just a straight cable connector. i need help bad n would apreciate the work of all u guys. i a newbee to this n someonetold me about his awesome site thank u in advance roco aka glitsh!
heyguys another newbe!! i have a pansat 2700a,with dishnet, i went down today, i have read a ton of stuff and also went through all the steps and changed the keys,and still nothing, but i don't no what bin i have,does it matter? this reciever was given to me from the fatherinlaw. is there something i could be messing up, and also, what does it mean with the word "active" becide one of the two keys. p.s. when i go into parental controls second pin it brings up a list of providers and theres a nagravision 1 and 2. i'm suposed to got to the number 2 and input the keys correct? thanks
Does anyone know the keys for the middle line on a viewsat? My kids had my remote and reset everything. I already have the top 2 and bottom 2. Thanks to anyone who can help!
