What makes the Viewsat and Extremeview so much better than the rest... I'm relatively new to FTA and bought a Cool$at because it was the cheapest, while I waited for my piece of sh1t DTV sub-share guy to ship me another receiver. Now that I've had FTA and it's been up for over 2 months... I might want to get a better receiver... but I'd like know why these other receivers are better?

If U have a coo*lsat 5000 and share DTV sub, then save your money...no need to change and do an upgrade..if U had a cheap pansat, then I might recommend it, but coo*lsat 5000 is OK for now..in 6months-1 year we may not even have FTA for DN annd Bev...if U had NO receivers then I would buy the above mentioned....most important issue is SOFTWARE availability, and the CPU 's and features of the other receivers..

sadly LK could not be more wrong

Sonicview SV-1000 : 200mhz nec cpu 32mbs ram NIM Sharp tuner
Viewsat 2000 (Lite/Platinum/Extreme): 166mhz conx 16mb ram
Viewsat Ultra: 200mhz conx cpu 64mbs ram
extremeview: 200mhz sti cpu 16mbs ram
pansat 2700: 81mhz sti 8mbs ram
pansat 3500: 81mhz sti 16mbs ram

while back korea found out about major things going down and had to stop all stis that are running 81mhz boxes like 2500 where told to be dropped along with cool$at 4000 so they and we did just that sold the 4000s dirt cheap right b4 n2 opened, no new box will ever be made using a Sti80mhz cpu again for na market simply put test a cs4k and c5k keep full logs of stream and you will find out. now coming up soon boxes with 133-166mhz will be dropped. 200mhz is min cpu speed you should buy a receiver at higher prices. 160-500

sonicview sv1000 is backed by viewsat support you want what has been the best support then you go with viewsat or sonicview. extremeview sonicview viewsat ultra all 200mhz along with all new boxes, like i said no box made imported to the usa/canada will have anything less the 200mhz for fta+ patch market.

Extremeview : 200mhz CPU 32mbs ram

Viewsat Ultra: 200mhz conx cpu 32mbs ram

That is right! THREE SOLUTIONS! CARDLESS, ROM 102 & ROM 103 SOLUTION...32 mbs ram...200 CPU...and FULL replacement no questions asked warranty!...the sonicview or Viewsat doesn't have all this!...ONLY THE EXTREMEVIEW DOES!!!!

LK- I have a Pansat 2700A and have not been able to scan any channels for almost 3 months now. New bin files have been loaded yet for both 110 & 119 I get around 75% signal strength but 0% quality. This started right after that long delay in getting a new bin file out for Dish. Any tips would be appreciated.
