I wanted to start a fresh new post to end the Bell Challenge, and to take a minute and thank those who did try and help me out. I had the Challenge, but no matter what has been done, and all the advice and info that was given, nothing worked, and nobody could fix the problem with advice or info. Oh well.
I want to Thank LK for the posts again and again, and all the info you supplied to me. I wish I could take that info and have worked it out, but for whatever reasons, the Panset receiver does not pick-up Bell 82, Every channel out there. Just the International package. Who knows? Maybe it has to do with where I am located. Maybe those channels even on FTA can only be picked up in a certain location. Look at DirecTv., back when the HU-Card was open. Didn't matter if you had a wide open script or not, you couldn't pick up every local because of spot beams. Maybe this is something like that.
Amyways, Thanks LK for trying and offering the info that you did. I would also like to Thank Jason Borne & Tyler Durden for their thoughts and info on the matter. It was greatly appreciated.
I was looking for help, and that is what I got. Doesn't matter if it didn't work, the offer was made by those to help me. That is what I like about boards as such. They are intended for people to share info, and help others. Not everyone is an expert. We wish we were, but we're not. So when we are in need, or have a question, it's nice when people help and offer their hand. Some boards people are so high and mighty, they just look down on you, and tell you to go to hell, or read a book. Well, if it were that easy, we wouldn't have these boards.
Everyone needs help from time to time. Even the smartest guy in the room when it comes to this stuff. If not, then he wouldn't need to come here even if it were just for New Keys. He would already know them.
So I end this now still wondering, what the problem may be? Why won't a Panset with a working bin and file, locked on a signal strength of 100%, picking-up Bell 91 perfectly, pick-up Bell 82? I am not out anything, and won't lose sleep over it, just wanted to bring the mystery to an end. Oh well. I think it's based on location.
The problem was identified and the solution was presented..I believe " operator error" is the present problem... there is NO forums that can prevent that..good luck, U will look back and say "wow, how did I NOT see that"..
I see what you're saying, and what your stand is. Then my question to you is, what I am doing so wrong, from your instructions then? If I have followed them step by step, and still nothing, then were is the error something I am doing? I am man enough to admit if I go wrong, or screw-up, but based on the steps you laid out earlier, and I have tried them, and still nothing, then where am I going wrong, I am asking?
If I go to menu, hit install, select Nimiq 2, the LNB says standard, the freq is 11250, and I select scan all, and only the same old crap comes back, then where I am going wrong?
I did that for 91, and of course selected Nimiq 1, and everything was fine. A few channels didn't appear, but I have 99% of them. So if I do the same steps for 82, and it doesn't work, if it's that easy, then please, I am asking, what am I doing wrong? So wrong, that one day you believe I will look back and say Wow, how did I NOT see that?
I don't think your dish is aligned properly, sort of. It is aligned perfectly for 91 (99% I think you said) on it's own, but the dish has not been aligned for both 91 and 82 together. There is a slight difference in the positioning of the dish (left/right) when pointing for both sats. And because of this, i think you are missing the horizontal TPs.
Put both LNB's on, then turn the dish slightly to the right (looking at the dish). You'll have to adjust a few time to get it to work most likely, but you should be able to do it. No harm in trying anyway.
And take the lights around that snowman's neck off. Looks like you're trying to strangle the poor guy. It's not his fault you can't get 82 to work! LOL.
Thanks Tyler. I never thought of that, and I will try that right now. What else to do on a day off. I will let you know what happens. As for our Wooden Frosty the Snowman and the Lights? My Daughter would kill me if I took the Lights off of him. Her idea, and whatever she wants, she gets. You should see him lit up? Looks great
Tyler, this is for you? I was wondring if this is how everything should Be & Read when doing this. I am trying to move the dish slightly, but while trying, I wanted to see if you agreed with this?
Menu Installation Satellite Nimiq 2 LNB Standard LNB Local Freq 11250 22kHZ Off Diseqc Off Skew -45 TP (a long long number) Poistioner Setting Disable Sat Scan All
That is how it has been all along, and nothing. I am trying the moving the dish to the right slightly. Never hurts to try.
Tyler, I put the swek to Zero, and still the same thing. I tried moving it slightly a couple of times, and no matter the position, the same block of channels come in. If you don't mind, I have (3) questions for you, and then this matter is closed.
1.) Could the channels not be coming in because they just can't be seen? Meaning, if I wanted to subscribe to Bell 82, I have to buy an add-on piece that hooks to the 82 slot, to enable me to pick up the feed. Now even though I am picking-up channels from 82, when I switch to 82, could the channels I am looking for only be available with that extra piece, so even FTA doesn't matter in this case?
2.) Yesterday, LK mentioned something about changing the H to V, so everything is V. It invloved subtracting numbers, typing in new ones, etc. I did all that. Could that now be a problem, or will it not matter, and if it does matter, is there a way to put it back to the way it was?
3.) If I put the receiver back to factory settings, will that change it back to what it is before this week, and those changes I made yesterday, and also will the 284 Bin/File still be there, or would I have to put that back in after factory setting was selected?
Sorry for this hassle, but honestly, after this, it's over. I;m giving myself a headache over nothing in the long run.
What dish do you have? More than 1 lnb on it? The oldest of all noob ??? is why cant i get every bird in the sky with this one dish and lnb. I know it looks like you have a signal on every KU bird but think.
This is for Herb. The dish I am using is a Bell ExpressVu dish. Only 1 LNB on it. In the Bell 82 slot. Everything is set-up for Bell 82. When the sat scans, and the channels download, only International stuff. No free previews, no Silver Screen Classics, Cool Tv., PPV, nothing.
Not trying to get every signal, and not trying run a million things from one dish. Simply one dish, one LNB, for one signal.
