Hi everybody! I've been away for the past 3 months and want to fix my Satelite Dish. I've researched this website for the past couple of days and DON'T want to be spoon fed. Just tell me if the following procedures are correct because I'm scared that I may fry my receiver if I do something wrong.
I have an Eaglestar receiver that is a Pansat 2500A clone. Is the following correct?
1. I have to purchase a Straight RS232 DB9 FF cable from an electronics store.
2. I already downloaded Blacklist V 1.4 updater and the following bin X-85BL_061102_284T_db_api(N) and unzipped them.
3. I turn off my receiver from the back and connect it to my computers Com Port 1 with the RS232 cable.
4. I open up the Blacklist updater
5. I make sure Com1 is selected in the updater and bin is selected.
6. I use select bin button and locate my bin X-85BL_061102_284T_db_api(N)
7. I turn on the receiver from the back and pick write bin button BEFORE the "knight rider" lights stop on the receiver.
8. I wait until the bin is 100% done and says completed.
9. I turn receiver off from back and disconnect it from the RS232 Cable.
10. I hook the receiver back to my tv.
11. I goto menu and scan the satelites that I have.
Is this correct because the following link was confusing because it seems like its saying to load the same bin THREE times.
How to reflash a nonworking Pansat 2500a receiver
1. Swtich unit off in back. 2. open the pansat downloader proggy 2300-2500-1500 downloader.exe file or BL V 1.4 updater 3. Enter "Pansat 2500A" in stb type (no quotes), if model is requested 4. Select Boot60.bin in Bin window 4. Turn on back switch 5. Before - - - - completes, start the download and let it finish. 6. Turn off pansat backswitch 7. Turn pansat back on 8. Now you should see Knightrider lights - - - - back and forth over and over. This is normal. 9. Now LOAD THE PANSAT FACTORY BIN (Pansat 2500A-040730_224_api(N).bin or can use the 222 bin) in 2300-2500-1500 downloader.exe or BL V1.4 10 Make sure STB type says "Pansat 2500A" (no quotes) 11. Start download... let it complete. The reciever will reboot when done. 12 Turn unit off and on again with back switch. Let the pansat boot up all the way. 13 LOAD THE LATEST WORKING BIN 14 IMPORTANT -- CHANGE THE STB-TYPE to read "key:global" (no quotes) 15 UPLOAD THE LATEST BIN and let the receiver boot up by itself. 16 Now you are done... just load a good channel list or do a scan, and watch TV again.
PS what's the STB Mode button for in the Blacklist updater. What will happenned if i press it.}
#6 is ONLY time U are loading the bin!...yes U will not hurt anything...that is correct..
U don't say what is WRONG with your TV/receiver etc..so the above may NOT "fix" anything!
maybe a simple "reset" with power OFF back switch will correct any problems...and maybe an entire factory default in menu, and new scans and antenna settings are needed also...we don't know what your situation is..
U cannot "fry" your receiver if using the correct bin...which is 284T..BTW..updater 1.4 is simple and won't ask all that crap..and STB- set top box = receiver..
