Silver Member Username: NydasPost Number: 782 Registered: Jun-06 | King: If you have used with success, the same cable before for uploading and you know about unzipping the file, etc., then you have come to a stage when, if there is light then put in an older BIN that you have in stock and then try the latest BIN. A comon mistake people make is to wait too long before starting the process - I often use two hands, power the receiver with one hand then almost immediately click the mouse to upload the BIN. Another common mistake is the wrong port - it is mostly Com1, but with the odd person it might be Com 2 or even come 3 or 4. If you have no light on the receiver you will need to j-tag. |

Silver Member Username: NydasPost Number: 793 Registered: Jun-06 | TP auto-update: When a channel is moved from one TP to another, most of the latest BINs have a feature that will detect the move and will attempt to scan for the new TP as you attempt to see that channel. This feature is under the control of viewer, and in the user setup you can turn it off, when you don't want it. If many channels change TP then if your TP update is on, you will get a new scan occurring at each of the updates. Thus if 4 channels have changed TP, the system will be scanning for the new TP 4 times. The most irritating part is that when you are looking through all the channels, if a TP has changed for a channel you don't normally view, you are still interrupted with an update if the TP auto-update is on. If you turn the TP auto-update off, and do a Blind Scan once, you will have all the latest TPs, and unlikely to get interrupted for a while. After doing the Blind scan, if you turn it on, the next time there is a changed TP, you will get to see the update occurring. You could use this as a signal to do another Blind scan, because you do not want to be interrupted again and again. Or you could leave it off, and when you can't view one of your favourite channels and most of the others are working, you would consider it time to do another Blind Scan. If you have all the information of changed TPs, you could do individual TP scans. Lyngsat*com is a good site to look for information on changed TPs. |

The instructions for this would be available at most reputable sites in the appropriate section for your receiver. If you are not sure about how to do it, it would generally cost about $50 to have it done by a hobbyist or a FTA shop. The wrong BIN for the receiver is the usual cause. You can say that the receiver goes into a deep coma without real brain damage. The J-tagging wipes out the brain memory clean and after bringing it to its original newborn state, you load the latest good BIN and presto, your receiver becomes a full fledged adult with great abilities. |

They were doing it to mine and when the autoroll was supposed to have worked, but it did not. I just did a "Set Default Key" and reentered both Key 00 and Key 01. After that I have kept the autoroll off. Even with my 281T I have generally kept autoroll off, although I do keep it on now and then for testing purposes. |

A 282 BIN will not work on clones and will cause havoc. The clones use 282T. By the way, 282T clonesafe BIN is for fixing BEV autoroll problems. It is not designed to fix DN autoroll problems. |
