I have the Motorola DCT3412 DVR from Comcast - does anyone recommend or have experience on IF it is better to leave this machine ON or if it is okay to turn it OFF?
I hear something "running" inside the machine whether it is on or off AND I had read somewhere else that people were recommending leaving the DCT6412 on since after they turned it off they were experiencing a problem when turning it back on.
It is better to leave the DVR on. The noise you hear is the hard drive inside the DVR. Turning the DVR on and off does cause constant issues with it and it uses very little electricity. There is also a fan inside which you may also hear at times.
I set my dvr to copy to a vcr and now I can't get it to stop or do anything. Nothing seems to work. It is playing the recorded show but I can't switch to other channels, fast forward or anything.Do I have to wait until it finishes with the entire recording?
