I had DN for about 8 months, then cancelled. Had 4 subbed receivers (2 HDs+1rDVR+1regular). Every now & then I get "error message on my screens", will not go through regarding all the bad experience, etc... I decided to pay the early cancelllation penalty and got DTV.

Your question: " can i just use an us address and pay over the internet, and hook up 4 receivers"

You can get or purchase your own DTV receivers, but still have to call them to activate the cards and receivers. It's 5/month each additional receiver. IF YOU CALL THEM TO TAKE CARE OF THE JOB, YOU GET THE LATEST 5 LNB's (AT9 DISH), 1 RECEIVER, INSTALLATION, ALL FREE. You may then add few more reveivers (purchase your own), then call them to activate, which I did. I bought my receivers from ebay, since it's a lot cheaper. I now have 5 H20 HD receivers. A brand new STANDARD (not HD), is only $20 @ ebay. I'm very happy with the new H20 MPEG-4 receiver, compared to DN's 811 HD receiver. I never had any "error" problem either.

Tony...U are Canadian...DTV will NOT go to Canada and install ANYTHING for U, or give or send U anything in Canda...DTV is is illegal ,as is DN, in Canada...

U can use a US address and phone # and subscribe to either and ask them to send the receivers and cards to a legit US address..and then have somebody from US send them to U in Canada, to install yourself on your own dish...then U or the person in US must call DTV or DN and tell them to "activate" the card, once cards are in receivers and all is hooked up correctly to your installed roof dish..the US address must be legit and NO PO Box ..and DTV is much better than Dishnet (DN) for subscription..

If U really know somebody in the US, then why not have DTV install the roof dish and 5 receivers at their house and activate thereceivesaand cards...then they just send to U however many of the receivers with card still in them to U in Canada, which U must hook up to your own installed roof dish.....then U both split the monthly bill..thats is what is know as "Sub sharing"...and U BOTH can order PPV's ONLINE using the account owners name and password..and then BOTH of U (no matter where U both live) will receiver the PPV's to view..sometimes 2-10 people do this sub sharing, from Mexico to Canada..just do NOT plug in ANY phone lines to any receivers EVER!..
