DVi vs. BNC - which is better?

As the thread says.

I have a Denon Home theater amp with BNC capability, or I could go direct to the plasma with DVI. Is there a big difference in quality? (Source signal(s) being PC, DVD, and cable)

It would be more convenient to go through the amp as I would have a single point of consolidation and control.

In theory since DVI is digital and BNC (component) is analog, DVI is best. But in practice, you may not be able to tell the difference depending on the incoming signal, the specific equipment used and your eyes.

So I guess the only thing to do is to try both and see the difference for myself on my own system with my own eyes.

However, I am leaning towards BNC simply to reduce cable clutter since my amp can accept 3 BNC sources and has a BNC output for the plasma.

Thanks for the response!
