i bought the video comp cables for my vs xtreme and all i got were black screen, i double and triple checked and they were correctly plugged, i returned them, and connected rca and s-video again, they were the most unexpensive comp video cables, could it be the quality of cables? does someone have an idea what is the problem
You could have experienced bad cables, but s-video and components both yield similar quality picture to me...I have tested with my Panasonic 42" plasma HDTV.
Possible that the red cable is bad. Try to get any extra single RCA and substitute for the red, and see what happens. If it doesn't solve the issue, it might be within the receiver itself, such as there is NO CONTINUITY (OPEN CIRCUIT) on the red RCA terminal. It could be the BLUE too, but most likely RED, assuming that you did everything right and had RESET the power already.
