1996 Mitsubishi TV -- How to turn on speakers?

Just bought a '96 Mitsubishi CS-31305 for X-Box display. Good picture but last owner had speakers turned off and must have plugged his own in. No remote and can not figure out how to turn speakers on. No sound! Thanks.
