I try to flash my new VS2k Platinium but i keep saying can't open port. I've been using com1 for cs5k. should it be the same com1 for my vs2k? I use the rs-232 come with the box. please help
Steve: Try this.,you will need to turn the Viewsat power switch to OFF (in the back), on your computer: run the loader , open the file(s), click on PC->STB then turn the power switch on the Viewsat to ON ... that's it !
Thanks I got to the part that I can download bin into the box, but the box never reset. after it installed then in see "End" on the box. I never get to the part that appears 0000.
The loader said download completed. What could be possibly wrong here? I need your experties on this thanks
Things you need. ************************************************** * 1.ViewSat2000 2.Computer 3.Null Modem Cable 4.Tv 5.Installed Dish with Switch (DiSEqC) OR JUST USE DISH PRO DISH WITH AUTOMATIC DISEQC SWITCH.
1.Find your Null Modem cable, and connect it to your Viewsat, and the Com1 Port on your computer.(May require Reboot)
* Leave the ViewSat UNPLUGGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. save all files in email files to your folder, make a new folder if you have to. *(example: My Documents/Viewsat)
3.Open the program "Loader2"
if it doesnt work, you need to install the ZMODEM32.DLL file to your c:/windows/system folder.
go to my computer, c:/, windows, system. this is where to copy and paste the zmodem32.dll file, that's it.
4.on loader 2 Click "Open Files"
5.Go to the folder where you saved the files and elect "Vs2000_newsod_v1012.PGM" *(This file name will Change with new versions. Just make sure its the .PGM file)!!!!! done with that one.
6.on loader 2 click on open files, "VS2000CHANLIST2.CHA", and AFTER THAT CLICK OPEN FILES AND PUT IN "VS2000CHANLIST2.SAT".
7.You will notice that you have the 3 files populated in the Loader2 program.
8.Click Pc->STB
then Plug In your Viewsat power.
(You should see the Files loading properly) 9.Once it is completed, The program will say its done. Now wait for the Viewsat to say "End" on the front display. 10.Power off your Viewsat.
HOOK TO TV
** If you still get no picture, Check your port settings for the switch.
***Once you have done this, you will only need to load a new .PGM
