Is there a way to hook a dvd player to a laptop with a DVD burner and make a copy of the DVD that is on the player?

If your laptop has a DVD burner...why don't you play the DVD on the laptop, make a copy to your disk and then burn it? Is the DVD copy protected. You can download DVD43 that can crack the protection.
