Check www.al7bar.*tk (remove the *); you need to register for free and then you will be able to download files. The latest bin is from June 7 (060607) - most BEV channels will work with this bin. Unti the fix comes out, this is it - patience is a virtue...
Gunaa what exactly is the problem? The latest bin is out and links are posted in this form, even in this thread. You need a db9 null modem cable and the dnupman loader which you can find at most dss sites, or even the official fortecstar website. The new bin works great with both charlie and bev.
Thanks J Dawg! Ok i have db9 cable wich i 'm using it for my pansat 2500a clone. i have no problems on that. I don't know if is null modem cable it worked on my clone. For my fortech star lifetime classic na, I'm trying 1.DnUpMan_060414 2.Johns STB Updater Application
with ''LT Classic NA_060613.bin'' I'm getting message "WAITING FOR THE RESPONSE OF YOU RECIEVER" take a look at my picture i
Gunna I am almost positive you need a null cable (crossover) cable. I think the one you have is straight, and unfortunatelly there is no way to tell by just looking at them. But for sure you need to use dnupman instead of the other loader. I would suggest first checking that your COM ports are properly installed and then if they are (check in System, from Control Panel) i think your best bet is to buy a null modem cable, they're relatively cheap.
I am trying to upload this new bin file to a Fortec Lifetime Classic NA. At first the loader says SENDING.... then it changes to WRITING, and finally it just ends up saying DOWNLOADING IS FAILED and on the display it shows ERR flashing. I am using DNUPMAN_NTSC_050408 Loader to load the bin file and I am tryin to load June 13 bin.
Anyone has gotten this error. This is not my reciever, I am just tryin to do this for my friend. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
No I am think you misunderstood me. The downloading process is not even finishing. Towards teh END of the download I get the error that DOWNLOADING IS FAILED displayed on the DNUPMAN loader screen and "ERR" keep flashing in front of the reciever.
K i downloaded the latest fortec file from the site that you suggested and tested uploading it to my reciever. I get the same error at the end of finishing, rather than saying DOWNLOAD SUCCESSFUL, it says DOWNLOADING IS FAILED
Can you suggest which loader, I am all new to this. If you can suggest me a name which would work with Classic NA I would search for it. Thanks I appreciate you being patient about this.
Okay, you can try this, but read it really good and follow it closely and it may solve your issue:
go into menu and clear all data first go into menu and reset to factory default Power the reciever off-- now begin the steps below:
What you will need: - Loader: DnUpMan_NTSC_050408.exe - LTC_NA_060331.bin - Channel list file: "newupdatechan.cdf" - DB9 Female-to-Female Serial Cable "Crossover" (Null Modem)
all files can be found at fortecupdate.com
Steps:
1- Connect your Null MODEM Cable to the RS232 port behind the FTA 2- Plug the other end to your computer's COM PORT i.e. COM1 3- Double click on the DnUpMan_NTSC_050408.exe loader 4- Under the FIRMWARE section, Click "BROWSE" 5- Select "LTC_NA_060331.bin" 6- Click "Download" to send the firmware (.bin) to the FTA receiver, power up reciever then click start 7- Sit back and relax until download is finished! 8- Under "CHANNEL LIST" section, click "Browse" 9- Select proper channel list file by double-clicking on it: i.e.: "newupdatechan.cdf" 10-Click download and wait until it is finished. 11-Wait until you see 0001 appear on the front panel of the receiver. 12- Unplug & Watch TV! 13- Wait 1-10mins for the code to be updated. 14- In menu to place channel by SID- TV Setting - SID: Enabled 15- Don't forget to set up time setting to get the complete EPG (GMT -4) 16- Goto Channel Setting -Sort channel- Press blue Button to place by SID and exit
If you still get error after this, repeat the steps but with an original factory bin from fortecstar.com then repeat the steps above again with a the 060613 bin.
The 060613 bin is the one you need for the Classic NA, and you can get the channel file at fortecupdate.c*om, after you click on Fortec... enter you email and you can get the channel file along with the bin and the loader.
Please help me to see World Cup Soccer. I have Fortec Star Lifetime Classic NA with two eyes. I getting Dishnet Nagavision (Echo 9/IA 13 and Echo 6,8(110,OW) Sattelite).
Please let me know the channel number for these two eyes to see World Cup Soccer Live. Thank you.
I have tried two time with all steps mentioned above to load new bin to classic NA, I purchased it just now, .....everything went successful, the bin file has been loaded successfully, also the channel list too, but there is no change on the front display, it is still shows "0000"
I request you guyz who have been successfully update their receivers, to help me to sort out this problem, is there anything Im missing???
I have a Fortec Lifetime Ultra, have uploaded the Bins etc (277T), but when i go to the Menu screen all menu options are available except for Parental Control, and the one below it. Therefore I cannot input the keys, my satellites are loaded, 119,110 and 61.5 - what am I doing wrong?
KALED, It sounds like there is no channel or satellite loaded in your receiver. Try to load a satellite from your receiver. If you are interested in international channels try 61.5 or 148 whichever works in your area.
ok, actually I only just upload the channel list and latest bin into the receiver, also I switched it off from back after everything is done, but I did'nt check it with my dish ( coz still Im trying to get some time to install it on my roof)
btw, how to load a satellite from the receiver, plz explain me the neccessary steps as Im very new, this is my first time....
KALED, don't waist your brain on it right now. Because we are all loosing channels. Just wait till next fix comes out. Until then you need to read this forum and other FTA sites and learn some stuff.

KALED, Try factory default setting. Turn your receiver off for about five minutes. Turn it back ON and then load a satellite. As of now Sat 110 and 119 is still working. Good luck
There are no new keys or bin for LT Classic NA. We are all waiting for new fix. If you have lost International channels then watch American for a while.
KALED,since you have DTV dish and I am not sure what direction it's pointed at we can still try to make it work with this setting. Select sat 110 or 119. Change LNB type to UNI. Then change your TP frequency manually to 11724 V 20000. To change TP freq highlight TP freq press right blue button go to new TP press OK and now enter the numbers manually you should be getting signal after you enter the numbers. If you are not getting signal then try 11724 H 20000. Once you get signal press OK Receiver will save that TP freq and you will be back in Antena setup. Now Diseq switch Should be 1 and Scan mode ALL. Go back to top bar and press OK to scan and see what happens.
Meena, You need to enter the keys in your receiver first and then load a satellite.

I have 2 quick questions. When the new bin comes out, what will the proper loader be and where should I get it? Where is the best place to find files for a Fortec Star LT classic NA? Thanks for any help.
The loader for the classic is the dnupman loader; you can get that at the fortecstar official website. There's not much out for the classic, little support everywhere you go... check al7bar.*tk, or dsstester.c*om, or any other dss site, you'll probably find the same support, or lack of, everywhere...
For all receiver are the same keys but not for all satellite. Dish Network:
N 0101 00:
98 F7 44 AC 5E 07 D9 ED 8A FF 3B 7E 65 71 F9 4E Needed for 61.5 and 121
N 0101 01: (active)
71 9C 60 71 04 C1 39 AE 88 FF F0 5E D2 4C F3 FC
For 110/119 DN The keys are: Idea Key 86 E8 70 B0 0A 8E 0A 3D C5 F3 59 C3 5F 1A DA 19 5C Idea Key 96 Active 71 9C 60 71 04 C1 39 AE 88 FF F0 5E D2 4C F3 FC
But if you receiver only have line for two instance four the keys are the same, do you need use active keys.
Hi People: I've never programmed my fortec star lifetime ultra myself before, but I need to start being more independent. The last time I had it done was in March with bin 273t. Will the keys in this classic thread work on my machine?
