Where do i connect that cable in the computer? Can anybody please post a screen shot of the setup? I'll greatly appreciate if somebody can help me. Thanks. |

Bronze Member Username: BurkanPost Number: 32 Registered: May-06 | You need to connect the modem cable to the serial port on your computer. the serial port is a nine pin connector, but if you do not have a serial port on your computer (I don't have a serial port on my lap top) you need to get a USB to Serial converter cable, I was able to pick one up from Radio Shack. Connect the USB to serial cable to the USB on your computer. but you need also to change the com setting on your computer to com1. To change com to com1 do the following: 1. Go to control panel 2. Chose System -> Hardware -> Device Manager 3. Choose Ports (COM & LPT) 4. Double click the device you need to change 5. Choose Port Settings -> Advanced -> COM Port Number esco sh 6. Change com to com1 or 2 or ... Good luck. |
