Silver Member Username: The_wank_artistPost Number: 177 Registered: Feb-06 | I've cut and pasted this from another site as I don't know much about your receiver, or anything really. Use the current 273 bin when loading. (replace the 266 for 273 when reading this. 1) Download the files. All the files are located in the Files only section In the file name you will find the date created and the version number. You will also see the model number, 1 is 700, 2 is 750. Make sure you use the right one! 2) Hook up a NULL MODEM (not a serial cable used with fortec and others) and open the loader. The 7XX loader; click on "BIN File" and select the current bin. (must be unzipped) Make sure it has "App file only" selected in "File type". Click "Download". It will reach 100% then take a few seconds to save. Do not turn off or unplug until you see it boot up and read "On" or a channel # if updating bin. 3) hook up to dish and TV. Double check that you have the dish in the right connection. Select language, then enter "Installation" menu. Select "Antenna" and then select a Sat. Once you've selected the sat, you'll need to change the LNB type to "Standard" and the LNB frequency to 11250. You should see the signal meter on the bottom lock. However if you don't that doesn't mean its not working, sometimes it shows its not locked even though it is. 4) exit Antenna menu and return to Install menu and select "Power scan". You will be prompted with an option for Data on/off, FTA Only on/off and Network on/off, pick Data ON, FTA Only OFF and Network ON. Let is scan away. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for different sats, at anytime. 5) When its finished (ex, 450 programs found) exit the Install menu, and enter the "Parental control" menu. Press "I 2004" ("I" is info button). A hidden menu appears, goto the bottom and select "EMU" to on, then press set default keys, then exit. (you do not need to press "OK" to set EMU to on, just select "ON". 6) Enter "User settings", then Time settings. Change Time zone, and Current time. Remember to change the year also (06). Time must be entered in 24 hour format. 7) Exit all menus and you should have a black screen. A "Updating data 0%" should appear soon, and this is the Key grabbing at work. It should only take a min or to and reach up to 250% or so, then it should display TV, and your done. Note if the "updating data" takes longer then a min or 2, hard-boot (rear switch off/on). Press the sat button and select either "Bell package" or "Echostar package" to organize channels. When upgrading, simply hook up the Null modem and download the bin. You will need to set the current time afterwards, you can use the small green remote button for this. Again, the time must be entered in 24 hour format. The current time, time zone, and date must be entered manually in order to get the EPG to work. If you lose all channels at anytime, you'll need to put EMU back on. A "factory reset" from the menu deletes all channels. Its not necessary to factory reset, but it doesn't hurt. You can use "Channel scan" after your initial power scan as it will take less time, and since TP data is static there is no need to Power scan unless your set up has changed. There is no need to alter the key data, but it is located in the parental control hidden menu, (nagravision 2). B3v's provider keys are 09 01, D1sh provider keys are 01 01. Altering keys may effect the auto roll. If auto roll is not working, try a hard boot (rear switch) or setting "default key" in the hidden menu. Every Sat seems to default to universal LNB type, and something like 9950 for frequency, so if your having any problems check these settings. If your EPG is not working, Correct the time settings, don't forget time-zone and year. If you cant get anything, check EMU. If you get radio, but no video, do a hard-boot and/or "default key". If the Bin won't load, your not using a null modem cable, (they look the same, only wired differently). Again, this is mainly for the 7XX's, but you should be able to figure out the differences. If any extreme owners can provide detailed info on set-up that'd be great. |

Silver Member Username: The_wank_artistPost Number: 417 Registered: Feb-06 | How to change the NAGRA2 Key codes (for Fortec Lifetime Ultra only) 1- Press Menu button on your remote control 2- Press right arrow key 2 times Channel Edit 3- Press down arrow key button 2 times, press OK (Code) enter 1010 4- Press the down arrow key to Set Default Key, click OK 5- Press the up arrow key to Nagravision click OK 6- On your top left you should see Nagravision-1...if not, then you've got the wrong BIN version. 7- Press right arrow key until you see Dish Network on top 8- Press the down arrow key once to Key Number 9- Press right arrow key 2 times the from Key Number 00 - 01 - 00 ( Now take notice that on your top left you should see Nagravision-2 now ) 10- Then press DOWN button key to change the keys manually on Key Number 00 11- Enter new Keycode, do the same procedure to enter the the keys on Key Number 01 Note: Satellite Providers changes the stream key codes unpredictably, (Note: remote control key letters equivalent) A = Sat, B = i, C = Tv/Radio, D = Pause, E = Audio (speaker), F = EPG 12- Check and make sure that you got all the keys....Press OK to store (save) 13- Press EXIT key 3 times to exit to the channels. Note: If you accidentally lock the KEYCODE (OFF) use this default password 1668 |

Bronze Member Username: AsharfiPost Number: 16 Registered: May-06 | New Keys that're working for Fortec Star Lifetime Ultra are: Key Number 00: 71 9C 60 71 04 C1 39 AE Key Number 01: 88 FF F0 5E D2 4C F3 FC How to put new keys into Fortec Star Lifetime Ultra? - Menu - Parental Control - Second Pin ~ Enter 1668 as the pin ! - Set Default Key - Nagravision - Provider ID ~ Press the right volume button on your remote control until you see Dish Network (00 01) just above the numbers. - Go down to Key Number and press the right volume button until you see Nagravision turns to Nagravision 2 at the very top. - Go down and enter the keys. - Go up and change the key number from 00 to 01 - Go down and enter the second keys. - Press Ok - Exit everything |
