Samsung DVD-R135 allows for copying dvd's that are copy protected, and cable, pay for view channels using s_video through av_1. I was told the reason why it works with this unit is because Samsung did not have a working agreement with Macrovision to cover flitering level's 2 and 3, only level 1 was covered under the Macrovision agreement when that unit was created. All cable companies use level 2, and dvd's use level 3, VHS uses level 1!
I just tested it on 2 (on demand), pay for views and 1 dvd, and it recorded all (3). I tried the same thing with my new recorder, LG DR1F9H and I get the copy protection box with the orange button (can not record, copy protection).
I have also tried it with the Samsung DVD-R145, it does just like my new LG (copy protected, can not record).
Just wondering if others who have this unit have noticed the same thing...
