50" Sony Grand Wega has a green spot

James Elder New member Username: Boomer55 Post Number: 1 Registered: May-06	Posted on Saturday, May 06, 2006 - 05:56 GMT My two year old 50" Grand Wega LCD just started having a green spot show up in the lower left hand corner approx 6"X8". I thought at first my kid took a marker to the TV but looking closely you can see it follows the grid line of the screen. has anyony had this proble???

Check the "Sony LCD Projection TV Problems" message board on this website. Many of these problems start appearing in 2 years after the initial purchase. In fact, the problem you and I are experiencing is so bad, there is talk of a class-action lawsuit (see https://www.lawyersandsettlements.com/case/sony_rear_projection_lcd_tv) Mine has not been fixed yet, but it appears to be a problem with the optical engine which is a $1200+ part. Hopefully you have warranty coverage but if not, call and complain about this because it appears this is a systemic defect with the Sony Grand Wega LCD. Sony should pay for the repair.
