DVD Player goes in standby mode.

Please help, nothing in instructions, turning off and plugging does not get it out of standby mode. Any suggestions?

Toshiba DVD player SD-2800kU Eject not working, DVD is stuck inside, Whenever I power ON I see Welcome to TOSHIBA DVD message and eject button doesnot work. Pls let me know how to solve this problem, Service guide any tips..?
