I'm actually on my second Plasma from Costco having returned the first due to the buzzing sound coming from the back of the TV. The second TV's buzzing sound is louder and comes from the back right side of the TV, while the sound in the first set came from the back left side.

Anyone out there have any suggestions as to what I might try? Customer service at AKAI was no help, the local TV repair shop won't touch the set since I bought it at Costco. The sound has nothing to do with the TV speakers or my surround system. HELP!

need model #. it could be the fan, if so call tech support on manual.

That sound seems to be the TV's element itself.
I have two of these plasmas - and the light buzzing comes from both.
Just turn up your surround sound to cover it up!
At least, that's what I've been doing.

are you at a high altitude? this could be the problem. if not and you keep getting buzzing sounds from the panel, return it, and spend a little more money on a better panel. Some of that costo Akai stuff is really just a waste of money.

I just got an Akai from costco and have a problrm with the picture quality. I bought all monster cables and routed everthing through a monster cable surge portector, but the image i get from both my Sat. reciever and My DVD reciever have a weird ghost like image that screws up the color. The image is really grainy on really dark or realy bright colors. I have tried to adjust the settings like it says in the manual, but i can not get a clear image. I am about ready to take it back, my cheap JVC gets a better picture for $1500 less. Any suggestions?
