My friend have an orginal pansat 2700a. I tried to flash the new bin on the receive but it said error as soon as I press download even I try to use com1, com2, com3 & com4. All 4 ports give me error. What should I do? I think it is the setting on the computer. If it is the computer, How can I change the port com setting. He has a window xp version on the computer. thanks!
@nickey,whatup!,what you asked, it's looks comp problem, I posted this before. In Windows,Open control panel and find "computer managment", then click on on "device manager",scroll down till you see it COM port, so you can adjust it. What I think ,you got no right data transfer speed. Have to be 11522 bits per second. After you set it up,dont forget to restart comp. Good Luck!
I had a similar problem. Something on your computer is hogging the com1 or com2 port.
Look at something like Hotsync. There is an icon on the lower right corner of ur desktop. Click on it. You will see local serial checked. Uncheck it and try downloading.
There is some task that you are using that is tying the com port.
Make sure that it is a straight through null modem cable, I very new to this and thought any female to female cable would work but was very wrong. Is this the cable he was using before to load bins to his reciver?
Do u or have u ever used the port for some function. The Hotsync is used for PDA functions.
It can somtimes tied up the port. It is only a suggestion.
When I used the serial cable the first time, I had the same problem. I removed the check mark against the serial option in hotsync and I was able to download.
