I was having trouble receiving HD programs due to tiling and loss of signal. The tech. rep., a really nice young fellow came out to the house to fix it. He found that my HD cable box (DCT 6200) was bad. He said he didn't have an exact replacement but he did have a new DCT6400 Series High Definition DualTuner DVR Cable Receiver box. He hooked it up and all is well.
I still have the old remote that came with the DCT6200 HD recvr. It works fine with this new box and some of the DVR functions actually work even though I am not signed up for DVR service. However since this remote is not the one desighned for this box not all the functions are available. Now to my question.
After searching on the web I found that the correct remote for this tuner is the ATLAS DVR/PVR 5-DEVICE Universal Remote Control and it's available on E-Bay for $25. If I buy it will it give me full control of the dvr portion of the 6400 cable box or do I have to activate that portion with Cox cable? Thanks, Chuck
