Or depending where you are located you can go to a "cable store" if your company has one. I know in new york we have them. Hope this helps you. Or you can try your dvd player that has the same colored ports you just nedd to purchase the component cables. You can probaly get them on e-bay for cheap |

Freeview requires a built-in HD tuner (I think), which you do not have. Normally that HD signal is fed into the TV via a YPbPr (component) or the digital connections known as DVI or HDMI. This signal will come from an external set top box, either purchased or rented from the provider, e.g. Skybox, Telewest, NTL. EICTA has defined "HD ready" very much the same as in the US. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds18570.html Notice however, there is a small loophole at the end of that article that states the signal must come in via component "or through an adaptor easily accessible to the consumer." So even if your TV does not have the "red blue and green ports" you will still be OK with the suitable adaptor: http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/PGV372.html?id=Bo8JNZy6 http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/YUV-RGB-SCART.html |

sweet_yus Unregistered guest | Thanks lad! Yep there is a component input with red, blue and green ports. I bought the TV from curries and did ask them, but they were clueless. He was checking for a DVI connection on the TV and the end he said he didnt know! As it only has one component input that means it will only be able to handle one source? for example say I wanted to view my DVD player as HD and also my sky box that would not be possible right? Thanks again lads at least im know I have a HD ready TV! |

Other than that all I can say is it's your money. |
