ALL the newest keys are posted in the "NEW KEYS" thread..the keys are the same for every receiver...they do not change by receiver type..they work on all Pansats, Fortecs, Co*olsat, Viewsat,Digiwave, clones etc...its even posted there how to input them...and if U were smart U would upload an autoroll bin and not need to manually input the keys!

For All Pansats

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Press menu button on your remote:

#1 Go to parental control...

#2 Go down to "second pin" option & enter 0000

#3 Then go to nagravision and select it by pressing ok button on your remote...

#4 In Nagravision window you should be in the box that is Entitled "Provider ID"...scroll to the right (press right arrow button on remote) until it switches to Dishnetwork (00 01)

#5 Now In Nagravision window go down (press down arrow on remote) to the box that contains "00" entitled "Key Number"

#6 While in the box (highlighted "Key Number") that contains "00", scroll to the right until you see nagravision 2 at the top left of your screen

#7 While in Nagravision2 you should still be in "Key Number" box and the number in that same box should be "00"...this is for Key 00

#8 Scroll down (press down arrow on remote) to key data and enter the new supplied key for 00 (within this site is the key change for Nagravision2)..take note on how to enter letters in the lower portion of the screen (ex. letter E=FAV button on remote)

#9 Once key is edited select OK button on your remote (OK-STORE confirmation blinks twice in lower right of screen)

#10 go back to the "00" box and move one click to the right which should take you to "01"..this is to edit the "01" key

#11 Follow Steps 8 & 9 above (this time enter key data for key 01 instead of 00)

#12 Click exit and click ok or yes to save changes then exit all the way out and you should be watching tv

Note...For /Bell keys at step #4, "Provider ID" is 09 - 01

I hope someone can help me
I am a newbie so bear with me. I have a multistar with fortec on it. Originally it had panset programming on it but I took into a friend who put fortec programming on it. Will this affect the receiver when I try to download bin files or do I have to reload panset program. If I do have to reload panset can someone tell me how to do it. Thanks in advance and happy holidays

"plavi01" you didn't say witch bin you have. sounds like you have the fortec 282t bin with updated keys in it. theres no n2 key option in this bin. your bin will work fine until the keys roll. i think the fortec 284t bin does have the n2 key option. i'm running a moded pansat 267t bin autoroll on june 2004 fortec with good chip set. and pantec 257pv4c bin on fortec nov 2004 with bad chip set. both bins have n2 option, hoped this helped.

Thanks 808

Yes I have 282t bin and I have been reading about this 284t bin and it seems to be killing receivers some kind of a time bomb or whatever so if there is a safe file that I should update let me know...

Thank You

Plav..the TWIN is a great LNB meant to receiver 2 satellite like the 110-119 with 2 receivers..U should be getting both!...check your remote and disque settings..and with some bins U need to add a dummy channel list..and U must use a channellist made specifically for Dish pro..any others will not work for U..

whatever..all these keymaster etc files are made for 6 yr old to use...just download it to your desk top..then click on the icon it makes whenever U want the latest keys..they are .exe files and U must be connected to the internet whenever U use them..

HI again I tried to use dishpro channel list but when with the dummy channel list but when I put the channel list to my receiver everything turns green. Anyways, would dual LNB work or do I need two of them put seperately to get the signal from both 110 and 119?

Okay I'm a newbee so please pardon my dumb asks. Newbee as in I just got the da31 thing 2 days ago and now it it's broke. I guess. When you turn it on it just walks the green light across the front and then shuts itself off. Waits about 10 seconds and turns itself on again and repeats. This a Fortec lifetime ultra that did actually work for about an hour when I tried to move the dish to get a stronger signal. I am guessing from the posts I have read that I need to jtag. thill 1951 or anyone who can help. Do I need to jtag or is something else wrong? Is it fixable?
Thanks

What is the different between bin file 1.36 and 1.37? Bugs are suppose to be fixed but did not see any problem with 1.36 bin. Does the epg work any better? Like showing more than an hour of programs in advance. I have Pansat 3500

U can ONLY use either 282T or pansat bin 256T safely...and there is NO autoroll bins for the Fortec receivers.

282T bins have keys in them, so U must use the newest one..(newest 20 Dec)

256T bin is very well liked and used but U must manually input the nagra2 keys whenever they change which is 2x a week to once every 10 days

Suggest U go read the Fortec area here for about 1 week.. ..and then grab whatever file U decide, they're all right in the link..

Fortec flashed to the clone safe pantsat bin 256T aka 256cV3

now for flashing:

downloader program required:
http://forums.dsstester.c*om/vbb/showthread.php?t=39174

here is the original flash for your ultra, flash this file first everytime b4 you reflash a new fix:
http://forums.dsstester.c*om/vbb/showthread.php?t=40698

here is a file that gets dishnet and allows manual key entry that is safe for your ultra:
http://forums.dsstester.c*om/vbb/showthread.php?t=41455

here is a program that will retrieve the latest keys that need to be entered to recieve channels:
http://forums.dsstester.c*om/vbb/showthread.php?t=41810

ok now for flashing your reciever:

first unzip all of these files into a folder with the name of your choice(fortec files?)

second start the downloader program BLACkLIST UPDATER
verify the com port setting that your 9 pin cable is connected to on you computer(com 1 is default)
connect other end of 9 pin cable to reciever's rs232 port

plug in recievers power cord with the switch on the rear of reciever in the off position.

click select bin and find where your dish files are saved and open the 272 file.

switch power switch in rear of reciever to on position noting front panel display, when you see the first - of the - - - - lights begin to move across the front display, click Write Bin.

the progress bar will now begin to move in the blacklist updater and continue to count up to 100% then change to flash burning DO NOT do anything during this time until you see a new window saying flash complete and your reciever restarts.

when the reciever has successfully restarted turn the power switch off in back and click select bin again and find and open 256cv3 file.

when reciever has been off for a minimum of 5 seconds you can turn the switch on again and write bin when you see the first - light on front pannel of the reciever, same as before DO NOT do anything until flash complete window opens and reciever has restarted.

turn power switch off again and connect reciever to tv and dish, set up your configuration for switches and sats in the instalation menu, scan your sats.

now start the keymaster program and record the keys given for dishnet.

Procedure for manual key entry for 256cv3 file:

On your remote click the menu button.
Scroll down to parental control and click ok.
Then scroll down to second pin and enter 0000.
Then scroll down to Nagravision and click ok.
Then where provider ID is use the right vol.button to scroll right to Dishnet Work.
Then scroll down to Key Number.
Then Scroll right 2 times and you will then be in Nagravision2 mode and key 00.
scroll down to key line.
Enter the key 00 there.
Then scroll back up to Key Number.
Then scroll right one more time to key 01.
scroll down to key line.
Enter the key 01 there.
Then click ok to save.
Now click the exit button 4 times and you should have TV.

She needs to read the Pansat set up guides posted everywhere...and then CLOSELY follow the step by step instructions!...hardest part is aligning the roof dish...she should be using clone safe 267 bin with autoroll....the setup is simple , about a 20 minute job..

Simple PanSat FAT Receiver set up Guide ****

I hope this instruction will help you get started: Read the instruction and understand all the procedures first before you starting to flash your receiver.

=========================================

Before we getting start, you have to down load all the software you will need and install them.

Down load the file you need from below link, then create a folder, and save as any name you want ( I name my Pansat Utilities_Programming), then unzip the file into the same folder.

Pansat FTA Loader: Get your PanSat loader here

PanSat FTA N2 Flash: Get your PanSat FTA Newest N2 Released

Channel Master: Get it here

============================================

Receiver Software update:

1. Connect the serial cable to the receiver and Comm #1 or Comm #2 SERIAL port of your computer.
Double check and make sure the cable is securely connected.

Note: Pansat 2700 & 3500 use RS232C null modem(serial)cable and Pansat 2500 use RS232C straight through serial cable

2. Plug in the receiver power core, make sure the switch is turn to "ON " from the rear panel,
Then turn the power ON with remote control or from the front. You have to wait for receiver to boot up and
indicated ON.

3. Run the Down loader GTRom Loader from the new created folder.

4. Click the BIN FILE button, browser and select latest BIN FILE, then click the Open button.

5. Click the Download button, wait until the Download Completed.
Watch the LED on the receiver, it should reboot itself, wait until receiver displayed ON.

6. At this point; You are done with the software update. You can turn off power, then disconnect it from the PC.

================================================== ===

Receiver Configuration set up

With the Receiver unplug

1. Connecting all the RCA cable from the TV to the receiver, and connect RG-6 Cable to the receiver, then
Plug in power cord on the receiver.

2. You should see the Language Menu on the TV screen, select English.

3. "CAS SYSTEM" set up, just following the 3A, 3B and 3C steps

3A). Press menu, scroll down to select Parental Control then press OK.
3B). Scroll down to PIN #2, then enter you 4 digits password.0000
If you enter correct PW, it will take you into the CAS SYSTEM menu windown.
3C). In the CAS SYSTEM menu, scroll down to SET DEFAULT KEY, then press OK. Then exit to main menu page.

In the future; if you have to edit the Dishnet key, just following the step #3 to get into the CAS SYSTEM menu.

4. From the MAIN MENU: selecting INSTALLATION then Antenna setup Option.

These are my dish set up and DiSeqC multi switch configuration;
DiSeqC #1 SuperDish Echo9-IA 13 Dishnet 121
DiSeqC #2 Echo8.6/Ku 110W,
DiSeqC #3 Echo7/Ku at 119W

Satellite: ECHO 9(121) same as dish 105
Lnb type-Standard
Lo freq-10750
22khz-OFF
DiseqC- #1
Skew: O
TP: leave it as is
Positioner-Disable.

Satellite: ECHO 6,8(110)
Lnb type-Standard
Lo freq-11250
22khz-OFF
DiseqC-#2
Skew: O
TP: leave it as is
Positioner-Disable.

Satellite: ECHO 7(119)
Lnb type-Standard
Lo freq-11250
22khz-OFF
DiseqC-#3
Skew: O
TP: leave it as is
Positioner-Disable.

5. Check the signal and Quality level highest as you can (adjust the dish slightly to improve the signal strength).
If you get no quality level on transponders, try others before giving up, because not all TPs are transmitting,
If necessary Re-aim your dish if still not getting any quality signal

6. Press the Exit button, press OK to save setting, the back to the Main Menu

7. Go back to the Installation Menu

8. Goto SATELLITE SCAN or BLIND SCAN, press OK, select the satellite to scan.
you have to scan all the satellites have, once it complete, you should be able to watching TV

============================================

Customize your own channels with Channel Master

1. Hook up you box to the PC again.

2. Run the Channel Master, upload the channels list to the PC.

3. From the Channel master, you can edit or delete the unwant channel, save it, then load it back to your box.

Go to lyngsat.c*om for you satellite channel information

Note: Channel Master has the help menu, just look up on the top tool box.

You are very intelligent and know your stuff, but it seems like information overload. For example, I bought the pansat 3500. I tried to follow the discussion to figure out how to program it and I got very confused. You all assume people know what you know and not everyone does. Ok, then, the bin file, the codes. When do I need to install a bin file, and why? what version of bin file? what is a rollback? because the recevier is virgin, do I need to install a new bin file in order for me to enter the new key, or just enter new key? how do I know this information? It is all confusing, and we need to simplify it for readers like me.

Yes I saw Linda's posts the past few days at dsstester..The above steps for ANY receiver cannot be any simpler..

For U that do NOT understand, its because U haven't read anything, so its all Greek to U..U must read first and grasp a little of this on your own...U cannot walk in here and "just do it"!

BTW...channel master and channel lists are an option and NOT a necessity!..Receiver software update and Configure is all U need to do, along with correctly aiming your dish..

For the Pansat 3500..use the latest 137 bin...autoroll means the "keys" (dishnet secret codes) will automatically be received and inputted into your receiver...U do Not have to find the "keys" and manully input them..Bin file is the software that has codes that unscramble the Dishnetwork signals which are sent scrambled so people can't watch for FREE, so U can watch TV...If a bin file is working fine for U ,then no need to change it..Virginnreceiver should be loaded with the factory flash/bin file first ,then the latest autoroll (bin 137 for the 3500)

I am wondering, Doesn't the 3500 come loaded with the factory flash/bin file? if not then where do I get it from ?

I read your instructions about the Antenna setup and I was curious to know if that setup works with the Superdish?
When you said that the keys are good for all the receviers, are you talking about the bin file or are you talking about the keys only. Also, how do I pick the 137 bin from among all the bin files outhere?
Thanks you have been really a lot of help.

Keys are same for all receivers..bins vary by receiver make/model..For pansats the best site is [link removed] ..they have a 3500 discussion area and a 3500 file area..also have a newbie area too for FAQ...that config works on any dish

U must use a DirectV receiver toget DTV and U must subscribe!

Arlene...good luck...in the future , I would NOT suggest a Fortec Ultra or any Fortec receiver..get either a Pansat 3500, co*olsat 4000/5000 or viewsat 2000 platinum..they have MUCH more software support, especially the pansat 3500 or viewsat..

I have single satellite dish with dual output lnb pointing at 61.5W. I used a satellite finder to trace the signal and was able to get signal but it sits at 78%Level and 40%Quality. I tried to align the dish different ways but did not succeed in getting 80-90% Quality. I am using fortec lifte time ultra receiver with 282t bin installed. Any help to get 80-90% signal would be appreciated.

Thats very common when using software with electronics..especially satellite equipment, either FTA or DN with plastic ..some files/bins are more apt to freeze than others..no solution, except try another file..and clean your receiver of any old memory and corruption

Hello guys, I have this big problem: I have a Fortec Lifetime Ultra and I downloaded a bin file from dishnewbies.com that was supposed to let me get both Bev and DN, but after "downloading complete" my receiver showed something like a "+6" on screen. I turned it off on the back switch and it never turned on again, not even the ----- lights, absolutely nothing, and of course when I now try to download the previous bin that was working perfectly it says "download fail" because it doesn't have power. Is there something I can do to fix my receiver, like a boot or something, or do I need a person to repair it? I'd really really apreciate any good suggestions you may have. Thank you guys.

LK, the problem is that my knowledge doesn't go that far as to open my ird or build a cable as the one I think I will need. If it isn't too much bothering you, would you explain in simple english what is Jtag, so I can know if I am capable of doing it or not? Thanks man.

Open your IRD (receiver) is about 4-6 screws and U need a screwdriver oe even a beer tab might work..sometimes soldering a few spots is required, sometimes not...nobody has any knowledge about anything until they try it..could U swim before U tried?..NO!...ride a bike?...NO..this is NOT rocket science..IF U can read, comprehend English and have 2 hands and eyes, then U can do this..

A person is ONLY a failure when he stops trying...

BTW...most electronics shops will Jtag it for U..

Oh I see, you're implying that I must open my ird and sold the first thing I see. Why didn't you say so before? It's so easy! Maybe I could just melt the circuits to make my life more intersting! You know something? I was just asking you for a guide, not to solve my life. Let me tell you that your big mistake is asuming that everybody has the same abilities (not capacities). Have you heard about "empathy"? Why don't you try some? Not everybody has the time and the resources as you do, to have a full time hobby. Some of us have to work for living. Anyway, thanks a lot for taking the time to dedicate me a sarcastic answer. It makes you a grand person, and excuse me if my ignorance offended your wisdom. I see that you're an expert in electronics AND in lecturing people about success. Bye man.

Hello Thill1951,
I think you are the one is going to have an answer for me. I bought a Pansat 3500S but I have no idea what kind of software I need to use to watch channels on 110,119 and 61.5. The only thing I have is two dishes one is point to 110/119 and the other to 61.5. Please, please tell me what should I do and where to download the software and what exactly I have to do after that. Thank you so much and happy new year. P.S It would be nice to hear from you soon. :-)

U both have 1-2 weeks of reading...U need to align /aim the LNB's (eyes) on your dish towards the satelites U want...Dishnetwork 110-119 are most common..then U need to run RG6 cable to your receiver, and make sure U are aimed correctly and "scan" each satellite..next U need to configure your receiver..now install a disque switch between your LNB and receiver (closer to the receiver is better)...now flash the lateset software(bin 136 for the 3500) and upload it into your receiver...set the default keys...press SAT on remote and select echopackage..watch TV..

So go to www.dsscommunity.c*om, read for 1-2 weeks in the "getting Started" and "Pansat 3500" and "Dish Pointing" areas and then U will understand what I just said and be able to hook it up and program the receiver all by yourselves..good luck..
