Some time ago I bought vpw450HD view sonic display, it works great,I just moved to europe, I got european dvd player works great,it even detects different voltage, should also work with local tv, but when local cable provider came to hook me up ,he told me that this tv wont work with their frequency,how can it be? do I need special adapter or anything like that Thanks
you would need a special power cord for eouropean outlets.

Besides the 220 volts, (refering to the europian power cord) does your plasma supports PAL/SECAM? I don't think it does. Not many (if any)sold in the US do. Usually they are NTSC only. You can watch dvds, Broadcast tv (or EU Cable for that matter)in my opinion is out of the question. Unless.... there is some external box that converts europian broadcast signal to ntsc. humm
I am from switzerland and live in Texas now, so I know both worlds and I agree with patyomkin about the box or so. Seems to me that you need a dvd recorder to watch local tv that you recorded. VCR will not work because it is not digital and will just transmit a pal or secam signal which the tv will not read. Good luck
