Could someone help me with the best set up for my equipment? I have a Toshiba 57 in tv A Phillips home theatre w/dvd And dishnetwork satellite receiver 301(no component cable inputs) i do have some s -video as well as some componant video cables. i have everything working, but wondered if im missing out on a better set up.
DVD to TV video: component (red, green, blue) DVD to TV sound: red/white RCA's (now you can watch a dvd on the tv and/or the receiver).
Sat. to TV video: S-video Sat. to TV sound: red/white RCA's Sat. to Phillips sound: Optical or digital coax if possible. (here again, you can watch on the other or both)
Nothing wrong with DVD/Receriver being in the same box. However, separating the two increases hookup flexability, number of inputs, and in many cases, sound quality will also improve with the added power and processing functions. All depends on how far you wish to take things.
